Rita Ann Einarson

Sudbury: Rita Ann Einarson, age 60, died Saturday, May 5, 2012, at her home in Brandon.
Mrs. Einarson was born in Tracy, Minnesota on March 30, 1952. she was the daughter of Edward and Arlis (Jackels) Ourada. She grew up in Walnut Grove, MN where she received her early education and was graduated from Walnut Grove (MN) high school, class of 1970. She later moved to Grafton, North Dakota where she worked as a L.N.A. at St. Joseph’s Hospital for several years. She moved to Manchester, NH in 1984 and continued working as an L.N.A. She came to Sudbury in 1989 moving from Manchester and continued working as an L.N.A. and later did private duty nursing. She and her husband owned and operated Broken Arrow Kennel in Sudbury. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing and gardening.

Surviving is her husband Mitch Einarson of Sudbury; whom she married in Grafton, ND on October 8, 1983, 2 daughters; Karen Scott of Rutland and Angie Gaudry of Adams, TN, her mother Arlis Ourada of Walnut Grove, MN, 6 sisters; Eileen Olson of Aurora, CO, Teresa Vandewiele of Garvin, MN, Linda Burns of St. Paul, MN, Deanna McNamee of Colorado Springs, CO, Sandy Cooreman of Tracy, MN and Betsy Snyder of Milroy, MN; 2 brothers; Duane Ourada of Tracy, MN and Larry Ourada of Colorado Springs, CO 3 grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive her. she was predeceased by her father Edward Ourada in June 2011.

A mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Thursday, May 10, 2012,  at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Brandon. The Rev. Albert “Skip” Baltz, Pastor was the celebrant. The graveside committal service and burial followed in Pine Hill Cemetery.

Memorial gifts in lieu of flowers may be made, in her memory to; Rutland Area Visiting Nurse & Hospice, 7 Albert Cree Dr, Rutland, VT 05701 or to the Brandon Area Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 232, brandon, VT 05733.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Miller & Ketcham Funeral Home in Brandon.

Waneta Violet Emery

Brandon: Waneta Violet Emery, age 90, died Monday, May 7, 2012, at Porter Medical Center in Middlebury.

Mrs. Emery was born in Hyde Park, VT on December 7, 1921. She was the daughter of Burton and Estelle (Emerson) Eastman. She grew up in Hyde Park where she received her earlier education. She was graduated from Peoples Academy in Morrisville, class of 1941. She had worked as a waitress at several area restaurants in Middlebury and Rutland. She was predeceased by her first husband; Frederick Lincoln Owen who was M.I.A. during WW II. In 1971 she married Frederick Emery they made their home in Sarasota, FL for several years before returning to Rutland. Mr. Emery died in 1981. In recent years she enjoyed the Annual Basin Blue Grass Festival and socializing with friends over coffee. She always looked forward to attending Project Independence and was a lover of all pets.

Surviving is her daughter; Linda Jean Berry of Brandon, 3 grandsons and their families; Mark Berry of West Knoxville, TN, Steve Berry of Brandon and Daniel Berry of Whiting. Several cousins also survive her.
 The funeral service was held on Friday, May 11, 2012,  at the Miller & Ketcham Funeral Home in Brandon. The Rev. Richard White, pastor of the Brandon Congregational Church officiated. The graveside committal service and burial  followed in Pine Hill Cemetery.

Memorial gifts in lieu of flowers may be made, in her memory to; Rutland County Humane Society, 765 Stevens Road, Pittsford, VT 05763 or to the Addison County Humane Society, 234 Boardman St., Middlebury, VT 05753.

Albert Wedwaldt

Middlebury: Albert W. Wedwaldt, 75, a longtime resident of Middlebury, died Saturday, May 5, 2012 at Rutland Regional Medical Center, Rutland.

Born in Balboa, Panama June 3, 1936, he was the oldest son of the late William A. and Anna (Bradney) Wedwaldt.

Al was a graduate of Wallingford High School, class of 1954, and honorably served his country in the United States Navy from 1954 through 1958.  He graduated from the University of Vermont in 1962.
Al spent the majority of his career teaching Social Studies and History.  In 1962 he began teaching in Moriah, NY, and then he moved to Middlebury to teach at Middlebury Union High School.  He also coached basketball and baseball. Following his retirement in 1986, he was employed by Community Investment Counselors for several years.  

Al was an avid fly fisherman and bird hunter; he loved nature. Travelling, with his family, was also a passion.He participated in the administration and growth of the Middlebury Amateur Hockey Association.
Above all, Al had a deep love for his family, his community and the State of Vermont.
He was a member of St. Mary’s Church.

Family members include his wife of 51 years, Charlene R. (Cook) Wedwaldt of Middlebury; two sons, Jeffery D. Wedwaldt and Charles R. Wedwaldt, both of New York City; one brother, Robert J. Wedwaldt of Cleveland, GA; two cousins, Katherine Egolf and William Egolf, both of Florida.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at St. Mary’s Church with the Rev. William Beaudin, pastor, as celebrant.  Burial followed in St. Mary’s Cemetery.  

The family suggests that memorial donations be made to Project Independence, 12 Exchange St., Middlebury, VT 0575.

Arrangements are under the direction of Sanderson-Ducharme Funeral home, 117 S. Main St., Middlebury.  

Elmer W. Kimball

BRANDON: Elmer W. Kimball, age 88, passed away surrounded by the ones he laughed with, lived for and loved, at his home in Brandon on Tuesday, May 8, 2012.

    Elmer was born May 31, 1923 in Weybridge, Vermont to Willard and Beatrice (Austin) Kimball. He married the love of his life; Phyllis Lou Williams on May 5th, 1950. Elmer was a veteran, serving in both World War II and the Korean Conflict, from 1943 until 1951. He was employed as construction superintendent with WH Delong for years and later had his own business; Kimball Building and Remodeling. He was a Master Carpenter that loved his work. He took great pride in the fact that he always left his customers satisfied. He was forced to retire, way too early for his liking, due to illness. A Boston fan, he enjoyed watching the Celtics and the Red Sox. Loved to discuss the games with his son; the Yankee fan. Above all, Elmer loved his family and the times spent together.

    Besides his loving wife; Phyllis of 62 years, Elmer is survived by his two sons, Elmer L. Kimball of Lincoln, William R. Kimball of Leicester and three daughters; Marlene P. Rubeor of Texas, Kathy A. Webb also of Texas and Pamela R. Reed of Brandon, Eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, with four more on the way, his brother, Howard Kimball of Arizona and his sister, Patricia Piper of Pittsford. Elmer was predeceased by his parents; three brothers, Leroy Kimball, Willard Kimball, Jr., and Homer Kimball and his sister, Elizabeth Desautels.

    He showed strength and love until the end. We thank God for the gift of his life and the blessing of the time we spent with him.

    The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the members of the Rutland Area Visiting Nurse & Hospice. With a special thanks to Melissa Fox for her extra special care and support to the whole family.

    A memorial service honoring Elmer’s life will be held on Thursday, May 17, 2012 at 11 AM, at the Brandon Congregational Church. The Rev. Richard White, pastor will officiate. Following the ceremony the family will receive friends, in the church hall, for a time of fellowship & remembrance.

    A private graveside committal service and burial, with military honors, will take place, at a later date, in the family lot at Maple Cemetery in Lincoln.
