Sandra Elizabeth "Mitchell" Malinowski

Leicester—Sandra Elizabeth “Mitchell” Malinowski  age 66 of 88 Delorm Rd Leicester passed away peacefully at her home on February 4 2012 after a long battle with cancer.

    Sandy worked at the Brandon Training School for over 20 years and later at the Vermont Country Store for 7 years and finally for the Addison County Transportation as a volunteer  driver She liked to knit, crochet, sew and read. Sandy possessed a warm smile for everyone.

    She is survived by her husband  of 50 years Richard J Malinowski of Leicester, 2 sons Richard J and David J Malinowski both of Leicester a daughter Dawn J Malinowski of S Royalton. also her mother Pearl Carey Mackissock of Brandon. 3 Brothers Everett Mitchell of Rutland, Dana Carey of Wallingford, Ronald Mackissock of Brandon, 1 sister Robin Mackissock of Brandon.  She was predeceased by a sister Agnes Mackissock Pudvah

    There will be a celebration of her life at a later date in the spring.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Hospice of Addison Home Health Rte 7 N Middlebury VT 05753

    Arrangements are under the direction of the Miller & Ketcham Funeral Home in Brandon

Robert L. Guertin Sr.

East Middlebury—Robert L. Guertin Sr., 67, died Saturday February 4, 2012 at Porter Medical Center.

    He was born March 5, 1944 in Rutland, VT the son of the late Francis and Antoinette (Bartlett) Guertin.

   He was a graduate of West Rutland High School class of 1962 after graduation he enlisted in the Vermont National Guard. He married his high school sweetheart Joan M. Czachor in West Rutland on November 5, 1966.

   Robert was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the American Legion Post # 27, of Middlebury and former member of the Eagles in Vergennes. Bob loved to play golf, watch and feed the birds at his home, and he also enjoyed doing artistic woodworking.  He was an avid Redskins and Dodgers fan and always rooted for the underdogs.

    Robert work for Standard Register for thirty-eight years, previously working at General Electric.  

    He is survived by his wife & children whom he adored. Joan (Czachor) Guertin, of East Middlebury,  Robert L. Guertin Jr., of Middlebury, James J. Guertin, of Burlington and Marc F. Guertin, of Pawley’s Island, S.C., by his sister, Carole A. Neal & her husband Clifton H., of Ashland, VA., by his sister-in-law Barbara Guertin, of Rutland, by several close nieces, nephews and cousins, and his best friend Baxter. He was pre-deceased by his parents and his brother Dick Guertin.

    A mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Wednesday February 8, 2012 . at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the Rev. William Beaudin as celebrant. Burial will be at a later date in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
