Elizabeth Edns “Betty” Moulton

Castleton— Elizabeth Edna “Betty” Moulton, age 71, died Monday, January 9, 2012 at the Rutland Regional Medical Center.  Ms. Moulton was born in Rutland on August 12, 1940.  She was the daughter of Harry and Lois (Parker) Archer.  She spent her early years in Fair Haven. She was graduated from Rutland High School in 1958.  She was married to Russell J. Moulton, Sr for 24 years and had lived in several states and countries with him while he was serving in the military.   She had been a resident of Castleton in recent years and was retired from General Electric in Rutland. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and also enjoyed crocheting, hunting, fishing, games on the computer, puzzles and cryptograms.

    She is survived by her son, Russell J. Moulton, Jr., of Florence and her daughter, Juanita Levasseur of Castleton. 7 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews & cousins also survive her.  In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a daughter, Sharon Lois Moulton, a son Allen D. Moulton and two brothers; Allen Archer and Edward Archer.

    A private graveside committal service and burial will be held at a later date in Cedar Grove Cemetery in Fair Haven. The Rev. Roland Smith pastor of the Fair Haven Baptist Church will officiate.

    Memorial gifts in lieu of flowers may be made, in her memory to; The American Lung Association, 372 Hurricane Lane, Williston, VT 05495.

    Arrangements are under the direction of the Mallory Funeral Home in Fair Haven.

Gwendolyn A. Cooper

ORWELL— Gwendolyn A. Cooper, 86, of Orwell and formally of Fair Haven, VT. passed away peacefully at her home on January 11, 2012.  

    She was born on September 1, 1925, the daughter of the late John T. and Mabel (McCullough) Parrow of Florence, VT. and Escondido, CA.  Previously deceased by her husband, Clifford R. Cooper of 68 years.  Survivors include three daughters, Nancy Smith of Hemet, CA, Phyllis Hall of Orwell, and Marie McKee of Hampton, NY; eight grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; sisters Ethel Drew of Rutland and Kathy Burnworth of Couer d' Alene, ID and brother Thaddeus Parrow, Newberg, OR.  Predeceased by brothers John, Hubert, and Thomas Parrow.

    She was a past Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #70, of Vt Grand Chapter Fair Haven, VT.  Always active in her church in Fair Haven and in Kissimmee, FL. She lived for her grandchildren.  Clifford and Gwen were travelers all over the USA, Mexico, Hawaii, Alaska, and Bermuda including friends and grandchildren.

    Gwen always wished she had attended college so her remains have been donated to UVM medical research department in Burlington, VT.

    Arrangements are under the direction of the Mallory Funeral Home in Fair Haven.
