The Congregational Church Of Middlebury 87th Annual Holiday Bazaar

Tuesday November 1, 2011

The Congregational Church of Middlebury will hold its annual Holiday Bazaar in the Church Fellowship Hall (entrance is on Seymour Street) on Saturday, November 5th, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.  Put the date on your calendar now.  It promises to be better than ever!

There will be several new, exciting offerings this year:  There will be a Winter Warmth (not just knit items) table which will have a variety of items – sweaters, vests, mittens, hats, scarves – made of different   materials including fleece.

The “Toy Box” will have several handmade toys for sale.  Check out the kitty  cat puppets, and the stuffed dogs.

A limited number of handmade wreaths will be for sale.  Check out the sample on     display, then place your order.  Wreaths can be picked up on Sunday, November 20th, at the church from 11:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Christmas trees from the Sinclair Tree Farm will be sold. You can purchase the tree at the Bazaar, and then you have two choices: a family outing to cut down your own tree, or a delivery to the church on November 20th (same hours as above) for you to pick up from there.

There will be a Kids’ Craft Table, items made by children of all different ages  for children to give as gifts to family and friends. Some of items are sachets,  clothespin dolls, and earrings.  More items will be added to the table for the  Bazaar.

The Lunch will be soup, salad, sandwich, and dessert.  There are many  combinations that can be made to fit everyone’s tastes and appetites, and priced accordingly.

Another new offering this year:  Need a little break before shopping, or need a break because you’ve been doing so much shopping? Then take advantage of our new offering - a cup of coffee or tea and a slice of pie served from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in Fellowship Hall.

The “Soup to Go” table was such a success last year that we will offer it again this year. All recipes will be from our own Church Cookbook, which will also be for sale at the Bazaar. wonderfully delicious items at the Food Table will be offered. See what the talented bakers have made this year.

Quilts and Crafts have made some beautiful table mats, baby wall hangings, and other  items too numerous to mention.  They have been quilting for many months to have a large selection of gifts available for purchase.

The Men’s Craft Table will have many new and enchanting pieces to offer for sale, from small to large, and everything in between.

The Garden Center will have plants, bulbs, seeds, and perhaps a few other gardening items for sale.  Come and replenish your tired-looking plants with fresh, new ones. “Ten Thousand Villages” will have a whole room to display its wares.  By purchasing items you help support crafters in third world countries.  And you get to give someone else an excitingly individual gift.

Attic Treasures will have many great items for sale, and a separate room to display them.  If you enjoy a Treasure Hunt, then this is for you!  Come and find the perfect gift for someone, and enjoy the hunt for it at the same time.

The Middlebury Congregational Church Raffle is a beautiful handcrafted quilt in the Bird House Theme; size is 87" by 93". Tickets are $1.00 each, or 6 for $5.00. The drawing will be held Sunday, November 6, 2011 at 11:30 a.m. Donations help support the community outreach efforts of the Congregational Church.

So come early, find gifts for everyone on your list, and enjoy some our church members’ cooking by taking a snack break or having lunch.  See you at the Holiday Bazaar on November 5th!
