Jeannette E. Lalonde

MIDDLEBURY – Jeannette E. Lalonde, 77, a resident of Middlebury for 51 years, went to be with her Lord Jesus on Tuesday, September 13, 2011, surrounded by her family.

    Jeannette was born in Shoreham, Vermont on October 5, 1933, the daughter of Amedee  and Cordelia (Dutil )Audet.    She graduated from Middlebury High School in 1951.  

   She was married to Theodore Lalonde on May 17, 1958 and who predeceased her in 1967.  

   Jeannette worked 38 years for Grand Union/Shaw’s Supermarket and retired in 2006.  

   She loved plants and gardening, watching her grandchildren play their sporting events, enjoyed her weekly visits to Goodie’s for her favorite black raspberry cremee, and visiting with her family on Sunday mornings after church.  She was a devout Catholic and member of St. Mary’s Church.  She prayed daily for others, gave great advice and never passed judgment on anyone and was an awesome listener and wonderful  sister, mother, grandmother and friend.

   She is survived by her two children and their spouses;  Marie Lalonde Miller and her partner, Robert Atherton of Bristol, Pierre and Missy Lalonde of East Middlebury, her grandchildren Justin Miller of Bristol, PJ, Lindsay and Nathan Lalonde of East Middlebury.  She is also survived by her siblings:  Marcel and Yvonne Audet , Madeleine Dubois, Robert and Claire Audet all of Shoreham and  Carmen Desforges of Middlebury.

    She was predeceased by her husband, brother Henry, sister Rollande and her husband Ernest Cloutier, brother in laws George Dubois and John Desforges.

   A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Thursday, September 15, 20011 at St. Mary’s Church with the Rev. William R. Beaudin, pastor, as celebrant.  Burial will follow in ST. Mary’s Cemetery, Middlebury.

   In lieu of Flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Make  A Wish Foundation, 4742 N. 24th St., Suite 400, Phoenix, AZ 85016-4862

Donald Charles “Buddy” Wetmore

 

BRANDON- Donald Charles “Buddy” Wetmore, age 85, passed away Thursday, September 8, 2011, at Rutland Regional Medical Center.

   Mr. Wetmore was born in Brandon on April 2, 1926. He was the son of Henry and Mabel (Cheney) Wetmore. He was graduated from Brandon High School, class of 1944. Buddy had managed the Brandon Inn for several years. He afterwards owned and operated the Brandon Gift Shop. He was a charter member of The Brandon Area Rescue Squad. He had served on the Board of Directors at Otter Valley Union High School, where he was Chairman of The Finance Committee. He had also been a member of the Brandon Chamber of Commerce and had served as Secretary. He was a town lister, a Justice of The Peace and served on The Board of Civil Authority. He was a past president of The Brandon Senior Citizens Center. He enjoyed playing golf and bridge.

    Surviving is his wife Marilyn (Ingerson) Wetmore of Brandon; whom he married November 8, 1952 in Brandon, 2 sons Kerry Wetmore and his companion Joyce of Sudbury and Brent Wetmore and his wife Susan of Whiting, 2 brothers; Henry Wetmore and William Wetmore both of Cleveland, OH and 2 sisters Jane Jadlowsky of Parma, OH and Audrey Pickup of Bowie, MD, 2 grand daughters;  Gretchen Gilb of Aptos, CA and Asya Wetmore of Butte, MT, a grandson Aemon Wetmore of Anchorage, AK and a step granddaughter Raven Stuart of CO. 3 great grandchildren, an aunt, several nieces, nephews & cousins also survive him. He was predeceased by a son Brian Wetmore in 2002, 2 brothers Leslie “Lucky” Wetmore and Howard “Bucky” Wetmore.

    A private graveside committal service and burial will take place, at a later date, in the family lot, at St. Mary’s Cemetery.

    At Buddy’s request there will be no calling hours.

    Memorial gifts in lieu of flowers may be made, in his memory to; The Brandon Area Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 232, Brandon, VT 05733 or to The Rutland Area Visiting Nurse & Hospice, 7 Albert Cree Drive, Rutland, VT 05701. Arrangements are under the direction of The Miller & Ketcham Funeral Home in Brandon.
