Bread Loaf Starts Construction Of Vergennes Senior Housing Project

   The project will provide safe, perpetually affordable housing for low-income elderly. The building design offers many attractive amenities for seniors: A community room for meals and activities, a country kitchen for small family get-togethers, a library, several lounges, a patio and porch. The location is ideal, close to downtown and within walking distance to a shopping center with a grocery, pharmacy and bank.

   The Vergennes Senior Housing will serve as a hub for the Addison County Meals-on-Wheels program. The community room will host bingo, lunch and exercise events for area seniors. The first floor will also have a medical exam/consulting room available for visiting nurses and physicians to provide for on-site routine medical needs.

    A Ground Breaking Ceremony was held Monday, June 27th. Construction is well underway and the building is scheduled for completion by the end of 2011. For more information on Bread Loaf, visit www.breadloaf.com
