LINDA  MITCHELL

LEICESTER - Linda Mae Mitchell, 68, a resident of Leicester for the past 3 years died Monday, May 23, 2011at Helen Porter Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center following a brief illness.

    Born in Addison March 1, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Robert S. and Leona M. (Reynolds) Clark.  

    In addition to being a dedicated and loving mother, she was a homemaker and had worked in food service at Middlebury College.  She was a previous longtime resident of Middlebury and was a former member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.  

    Surviving family members include four sons, Issy C. Mitchell of Cornwall, Dean A. Mitchell of Leicester, Robert E. “Bob” Mitchell of Middlebury, William J. Mitchell of Middlebury; a stepson, Richard P. Mitchell of Maryville, TN, two stepdaughters, Barbara B. O’Brien of Boca Raton, FL and Kate M. “Kit” Quesnel of Middlebury; one sister, Sheila A. Foote of Cornwall; a sister-in-law Teresa Defayette of Plattsburgh, NY, 18 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, 11 great great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.  

    Linda was predeceased by her husband, Isadore E. Mitchell in January, 2000, by two stepsons, Stewart A. Mitchell and Donald B. Mitchell; and a brother Lyman R. Clark.  

    Relatives and friends are invited to call Tuesday, May 31, 2011 from 1-2 PM at the Sanderson-Ducharme Funeral Home, 117 S. Main St. Middlebury.  The memorial service will be conducted at the funeral home at 2 PM Tuesday with the Rev. Lyle Willey, pastor of the Richford Federated Church and nephew of Linda.  Burial will follow in Prospect Cemetery Vergennes.
