Obituaries 5-03-11 Henry Bryson MackieBRANDON - Henry Bryson Mackie, age 97, died Friday, April 22, 2011, at his home in Brandon. Mr. Mackie was born in Verdun, Quebec on December 22, 1913. He was the son of Henry and Isabella (Bryson) Mackie. December 22, 1939 he married Katherine Doree Francom in Montreal. They had made their home in Brandon since 1963, moving here from Westfield, NJ. Mrs. Mackie died March 5, 1975. Mr. Mackie had worked as the Plant Manager for Federal Paint in Newark, NJ prior moving to Brandon. In Brandon he had served as Plant Manager for both Newton Thompson Wooden Toy Manufacturing Company and later for Rollers by Baker both in Forestdale. He owned and operated MacBry Crafts in Brandon, making and selling hand made wood crafted products. He was a member of Neshobe Golf Club and a past member of the Brandon Rotary Club. He enjoyed golf, fishing and traveling. He is survived by his long time companion; Ivy Marshall of Brandon, two sons Brian Mackie of Windham, ME and Ross Mackie of Brandon, a sister Lena Kufta of Verdun, Quebec and a brother David Mackie of Raleigh, NC. 4 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews & cousins also survive him. He was predeceased by 2 sisters Jean Young and Isabel McKeown. A private graveside committal service and burial will take place, at a later date, in the family lot, at Pine Hill Cemetery.
