Jean Guy Albert Quenneville

LEICESTER - Jean Guy Albert Quenneville, age 77, died Tuesday, March 8, 2011, at Sebastian River Medical Center in Sebastian, FL.

    Mr. Quenneville was born on September 5, 1933 in St. Isadore, Ontario. He was the son of Romeo and Lucille (Laviolette) Quenneville. He moved to Cornwall in 1950 coming from St. Isadore. He had been a Dairy Farmer all his life. He retired in 1990. Following his retirement he assisted his wife in the operation of her business; Lil’s County Store in Whiting for the next 10 years. He enjoyed winters in Sebastian, FL and summer’s back home in Leicester. He loved NASCAR, playing cards, listening to country music and was an avid Patriot’s fan. Above all was his love and devotion to his family. He was a member of the Middlebury Knights of Columbus #642, and was a communicant of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Middlebury.

    Surviving is his wife Lillian Derpentigny Quenneville of Leicester; whom he married May 15, 1954 in St. Mary’s Church in Middlebury, one daughter Diane Randall of Leicester, 4 sons Richard Quenneville of Salisbury, Cloude Quenneville and Maurice Quenneville both of Leicester and Robert Quenneville of Salisbury, a brother Rene Quenneville of Leicester. 14 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles & cousins also survive him. He was predeceased by his sister Hughette Brookman and 2 brothers Roger Quenneville and Vincent Quenneville.

    A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Saturday, March 26, 2011 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Middlebury. The Rev. William Beaudin, pastor was the celebrant.

    The graveside committal service and burial will take place, at a later date in St. Genevieve Cemetery in Shoreham.

    Memorial gifts in lieu of flowers may be made, in his memory to ; The Ashley Quenneville Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o Tanner & Lindsay Romano, 222 Birch Hill Road, Brandon, VT 05733.

    Arrangements are under the direction of the Miller & Ketcham Funeral Home in Brandon.

DELLA  FENN

MIDDLEBURY - Della D. Fenn, 85, a longtime resident of Middlebury, passed away peacefully at Helen Porter Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center Monday, March 21, 2011.

    Born in Chateaugay, NY May 26, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Laura (Wood) Willis.  Following the death of her mother at a young age, she was raised by her aunt and uncle, Paul and Nancy (Wood) Dow.

    Della was an apple farmer and was part of Dow’s Orchard’s of Middlebury for many years.  She was the matriarch of her family and took great interest in each of their lives.  Della had a great sense of humor and enjoyed life to its fullest.

    She was a member of the Middlebury United Methodist Church and the Daughter’s of the American Revolution.  

    Surviving family members include one son, Ronald S. Fenn and his wife Susan of Danville, NH; five daughters, Patricia F. Clark and her husband Butch of East Middlebury, Sharon E. Holguin and her husband Louis of LasVegas, NM, Dorothy A. Foley of Middlebury, Connie E. Mason and her husband Joe and Ellen M. Smith and her husband Mike, all of Cave City, Kentucky; one brother Everett Willis of Malone, NY ten grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.  

    Della was predeceased by her husband, Stowell R. Fenn who died August 10, 1969; by two sisters, Evelyn Hutchins and Ruth Stone and by a brother, Walter Willis.

    The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Helen Porter Healthcare and Rehabilitation for their wonderful care of their mother.

    A memorial service was conducted Friday, March 25, 2011 at Middlebury United Methodist Church, the Rev. Jill Robinson, pastor, officiated.  Spring burial will take place at Prospect Cemetery, East Middlebury.

    Flowers are acceptable or memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 1701 North Beauregard St., Alexandria, VA 22311.

Lucy E. Danyow

Middlebury - Lucy E. Danyow, passed away peacefully at Porter Hospital, Tuesday, March 22, 2011 surrounded by her loving family.

    Born February 21, 1925 in Middlebury, she was the daughter of Charles J. and Francis (Swenor) Shaw.

    She grew up in Middlebury where she met Raymond A. Danyow Jr. and they married on April 24, 1946.  As a young woman, Lucy was a waitress at many local restaurants.

      In 1955 Lucy and Raymond “Buck” opened Champlain Construction Company in Middlebury.  She was the back bone of the company.

     Lucy was very active with her children’s sports schedules and enjoyed watching dirt track stock car racing.  During her retirement she spent winters in Florida but couldn’t wait to get back to see her grandchildren. While in Vermont she enjoyed her flower and vegetable gardens as well as watching cardinals in her birdfeeders outside the window.  Lucy was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and also loved Shaq.   She looked forward to playing shuffleboard and her player piano for her grandchildren.

    Lucy leaves behind her husband Raymond and her sons, Larry of Middlebury, John and his life partner Margaret Smith of Middlebury, Jim and his fiancé Sonya Sorenson of Panton; grandchildren: Heidi and her husband Bill Cunningham, Lorrie, Joy and her husband Gene Pouliot, Bucky and his girlfriend Kelley Davio, Janet and her partner Brian Litchfield, James and Tiffany; daughter-in-law Carolyn Danyow and four great grandchildren.  

    She is predeceased by three brothers, Lucius, Butch and Buster Shaw and two sisters, Helen Shaw and Dorothy Moore.

    Our family would like to thank her many caregivers and the staff at Porter Hospital for their care and comfort at this sad time.

    Friends were invited to attend a Mass of Christian burial celebrated on Saturday March 26, 2011 at St. Mary’s Church in Middlebury with Rev. Jay C.  Haskin, as celebrant.  Spring burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
