Lt. Governor Phil Scott summed up the collective sentiments of firefighters and guests in attendance at the Annual Addison County Firefighters Banquet held at the Vergennes Eagles Clubrooms on Wednesday evening January 19, 2011.  “You have a lot to be proud of.  This is very impressive.”  Scott went on to express his admiration for the family, employer and community support generated by ACFA.  “Community service has always been important to me,” the newly elected Lt. Governor continued during a brief but strongly supportive address at the beginning of the awards ceremony.  “Participation is important.  209-thousand Vermont residents did not vote in the last election.  There is room for improvement”, Scott said while commending the firefighters for their individual service above self and dedication to the citizens of their respective communities.
