2011 Time For Optimism Possibility And Increase

Tuesday January 4, 2011

By Lydia Solini (www.AstrologyByLydia.com)

The New Year should bring a more peaceful, recuperative energy with it!  We have all felt the driving pressure of 2010. Now as we move into 2011, the pace slows and we will all need to take a closer look at our personal requirements.  Even though world events continue to get our attention it should be a year where many public officials seek peaceful, diplomatic solutions and use persuasion rather than force.  Peace will be an important component in all situations this year; so pursue conciliatory behavior.  We should not see dramatic changes in politics; such as revolutions or confrontations leading to war.  This year will bring a greater focus and awareness on human rights; the underprivileged and feeding a hungry world.  Since we will be in a period of wishing to avoid conflict and escape from unpleasant realities our vigilance may become too relaxed when dealing with rules and regulations.  It will be important for public citizens and officials alike to keep a firm watch on financial and banking institutions and state and local governments to avoid further financial collapse.  Procrastination can be a factor in all sectors of life this year.

Those who are diligent will be able to make money more easily in 2011 than was possible in the last two years.  Entrepreneurs who pursue products or services that cater to leisure and luxury will fare well.  Getaway or spa packages will also be an important indulgence this year.  Since the focus will be on seeking a more carefree, unhurried, and happy personal life.

This year expect advancement in the fields of herbal medicine, pharmacology and cosmetics.  Other health innovations will be made.  Interests in alternative medicine will increase.  Innovations in the study of geriatrics are likely.  Because this can be an indulgent time careful attention should be made with prescription or recreational drug use.

Greater emphasis will be placed on family life and this is a year in which more babies will be born and more adoptions will be made.

Saturn is still transiting Libra and is at a midpoint in the fifth house of our nation’s natal chart.  We will be testing and exploring our skills and our values this year but we will also be more willing to take risks; part of this is because Jupiter and Uranus will be entering Aries this year creating more of a push to act and be adventurous.  But we will still need to take Saturn’s message seriously and work diligently to figure out issues so that we regain confidence as well as direction.  Stock market gains will have a steady increase this year without wild fluctuations.  We will need to remain vigilant with speculative markets for the first six months of 2011.  Creating balance in our outlook and politics should be our goal.  Our position in the world should continue to make serious gains as our reputation improves especially since our policies over the last year and a half have been more moderate.  This is further helped by Jupiter and Uranus moving out of Pisces which was squaring our Ascendant and creating havoc with our responses and image in the world over the past five years.  The need for transparency continues within all levels of government.  Steady growth should be expected.  Personal responsibility and moderation help correct the consciousness of the nation.

In February of 2011 Jupiter moves into Aries while remaining in the eleventh house of the United States natal chart; during this time increases in money, expansion in business and the housing market should be expected.  This is a time when more homes will be purchased and/or built.  Job possibilities increase as we steadily explore what careers will be pertinent to the future of the U.S. economy.  More people will consider education an investment, therefore, more enrollments of all ages in community colleges; universities or specialty schools should be expected.  Keeping track of trends especially during the first six month of 2011 will be beneficial.  Expect a great deal of expansion from February to the end of May.

In March of 2011 Uranus moves into Aries which will be squaring our nations Jupiter in Cancer creating more opportunities which can move us out of stagnant areas and suddenly bring increase and possibility as we begin to feel more optimism as risks prove themselves.  Uranus may loosen up the tight perspectives of the past year and a half but it is still important to regulate our finances both personally and within government.  Changes in transportation are also possible with train travel making a possible resurgence this year.  Great innovations are also likely in the field of nuclear power and electricity.  Any work in this area could prove a benefit to the job market and increase career opportunities.

Pluto in Capricorn directly opposing our natal Jupiter in Cancer gives us a better understanding of our relationships as well as our obsessions.  Great strides can be made in the field on psychology this year.  Most of us have noticed an urge to look more deeply at our lives since 2009; just as governments are looking more deeply into their infrastructure.  Resolving our money crisis will still be on the agenda.

The first six months will bring lots of activity and it will be a time when we will feel the urge to make big changes and take risks to get what we want and need.  It is likely that people will be more willing to make job changes or sell homes and move in search of the American dream.

After our Nations birthday on July 4, we will definitely start to feel that many of the strides forward that were made in the first six months of this year are moving us in the right direction.  This in itself brings about feelings of stability which helps us create more balance in our lives.  We will still be focusing on our responsibilities as a nation and as individuals but with a more grounded approach.  Practicality will be the theme of these next six month.  The focus on clearing up issues of all kinds becomes paramount and everyone should be concerned with the details in all situations.   When this is done diligently there will be success and conclusions in many sectors both public and private.  There will be more harmony as family, friends, clubs, and charities become highlighted.

Mercury will Retrograde (go backwards) three times in the New Year.  This is not usually a cause for concern unless your natal Mercury is conjunct, squared, or opposing transiting Mercury.  The first Retrograde will happen March 30 to April 23 when Mercury will retrograde in Aries.  The second Retrograde will happen August 8 to 25 when Mercury will retrograde in Leo.  The third Retrograde will happen November 24 to December 13 when Mercury will retrograde in Sagittarius (during its transit in Sagittarius).

Venus does not Retrograde (go backwards) at all in 2011; creating more opportunity to pursue what we desire with less stops and starts.  Love relationships will be highlighted especially in the last six months of 2011 for all Sun signs.

Mars travels a direct route through the signs of Capricorn, Aquarius, Pisces, Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo and Virgo this year.  As with all transits of Mars it is a time when we want to take action, make decisions and take risks; do so cautiously when Mars is transiting your Sun or Moon.

As mentioned above Jupiter enters Aries on January 23 until June 4, 2011; during this time all the Cardinal Sun signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn) will need to develop their viewpoints as will as focus on what they are expending their energy on and if it really resonates with their needs.  On June 5, Jupiter enters Taurus, and transits direct and retrograde until the end of 2011.  During this time all the Fixed Sun signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius) will need to enlarge their viewpoint and be willing to make changes that relate more closely to your inner beliefs.  Fixed signs will feel the need to reach out to others; this is a great thing since you are all so independent.

Saturn continues in Libra well into 2012.  It will be retrograding from January 26 to June 12.  At this time all the Cardinal Sun signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn) will be reacting to their responsibilities and commitments.  Take your needs seriously so others can, too.

Uranus exits Pisces on March 11 and moves into Aries and continues well beyond 2011.  It will be retrograding from July 10 to December 9 while in Aries.  This transit may help all the Cardinal Sun signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn) because it brings about possibility and movement which is something you all enjoy and helps lessen the weight of Saturn.

Neptune exits Aquarius on April 4 and moves into Pisces and continues well beyond 2011.  It will be retrograding in Pisces from June 3 to August 4.  It continues to retrograde into Aquarius August 5 to November 8.
