Lawrence John Cole

SUDBURY - Lawrence John Cole, Sr, age 69, died Saturday, December 11, 2010, at his home in Sudbury.

     Mr. Cole was born in Rutherford, NJ on February 14, 1941. He was the son of Uriah and Dorothy (Cochran) Cole. He was a graduate of Ridgewood, NJ High School, Class of 1959. He afterwards attended the University of Vermont and Columbia University. Mr. Cole had worked in Real Estate most of his life. He was forced to retire due to ill health in 2004. He has been a resident of Sudbury since 1997 moving here from Fredon, NJ. Mr. Cole was a member of the Board of Civil Authority in Sudbury.

     Surviving is his wife Beverly Simpson Cole of Sudbury; whom he married in Upper Saddle River, NJ on November 25, 1965, his daughter Jennifer Comiskey of Warwick, NY, 2 sons Lawrence J. Cole, Jr of Hawaii and Christopher A. Cole of South Burlington, a brother Robert Cole of New Mexico. 3 grandchildren and several nieces, nephews & cousins also survive him.

     A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Friday, December 17, 2010, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Brandon. The Rev. Albert “Skip” Baltz, pastor as the celebrant. The graveside committal service and burial followed, in Pine Hill Cemetery.

    Memorial gifts in lieu of flowers may be made, in his memory to; Meals On Wheel Project, c/o Southwestern Vermont Council on Aging, 1085 Rte. 4 East, Rutland, VT 05701.

    Arrangements are under the direction of the Miller & Ketcham Funeral Home in Brandon.
