LeRoy Gordon “Joe” Pearson

BRANDON - LeRoy Gordon “Joe” Pearson, age 64, died Tuesday, August 17, 2010, at Rutland Health Care and Rehabilitation Center.

    Mr. Pearson was born in Barre on December 18, 1945. He was the son of Thomas G. and Anna (Shonio) Pearson; Sr. He received his early education in local Barre Schools and was graduated from West Hartford, CT, High School, class of 1965. Following graduation he joined the United States Navy. He had been stationed in Guam in the South Pacific. Following his honorable discharge he returned to Vermont. He had worked as a Pastry Chef at Royal’s Hearthside for many years. He was a member of the Green Mountain Club. He belonged to Brandon American Legion Post #55, where he was a member of the Commander’s Club.

    Surviving are 6 brothers; Thomas G. Pearson, Jr, of Charlotte, NC, Clifton Guy Pearson of Hyde Park, Wayne G. Pearson of Ravena, NY,  Leonard G Pearson of Brandon, Kenneth E. Pearson of East Montpelier and Paul Pearson of Rutland, a sister Katherine Ann Truman of West Lebanon, NH. Many nieces, nephews & cousins also survive him. He was predeceased by his parents and a sister Beulah Medford.

    The graveside committal service and burial, with military honors, will be held on Monday, August 23, 2010 at 1 PM, at Hope Cemetery in Waterbury.
There are no public calling hours.

    Memorial gifts in lieu of flowers may be made, in his memory, to The Brandon Area Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 232, Brandon, VT 05733.

    Arrangements are under the direction of the Miller & Ketcham Funeral Home in Brandon.
