The Middlebury Voluntary Ambulance Association announced today that they have received a leadership gift of $25,000 from the Middlebury Lions Club.  Carol and Mickey Heinecken, co-chairs of the million-dollar capital campaign stated, “We are delighted that the members of the Lions Club have chosen to support this cause at this level. This is a significant contribution on their part, and it sets a great tone for gifts from our community in the early stages of our campaign"

Middlebury Lions Club president Dave Nourse added, “As a service organization dedicated to supporting worthwhile causes in our community, providing this initial gift seemed like a no-brainer.  We are an organization whose sole purpose is to help our friends and neighbors in need, and in some cases, to save lives. Having seen the Ambulance Association operate for over 30 years out of cramped quarters on Elm St, while the needs of the community and the size of the association has grown, it was apparent to the Lions Club that this modern facility will greatly benefit the ten towns served by MVAA.  We are honored to be the first service organization in Middlebury to be able to help support this cause.”
