James Henry Perlee

Leicester -  James Henry Perlee formerly of Bristol passed away Saturday April 17, 2010 at Fletcher Allen Healthcare in Burlington.

    He was born January 17, 1942 in Hudson, NY the son of Henry and Juna Bostwick Perlee.

    He graduated from Bristol High School in 1960, and he also graduated from Michigan State University majoring in German Language. James was a member of Living Water Assembly of God in Forestdale. He played the bag pipes with St. Andrew Society. He enjoyed fishing, hunting motorcycles and swimming. Dearly loved his children and family.

    James is survived by his companion Heidi Demand, his former wife Nancy Perlee; five children Regen, Kiersta, Laurel, Lori, and James; mother Juna, two brothers Peter and Bruce, sisters Flora, Gail numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

    Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. on Monday April 26th at Bristol Baptist Church. Friends may call at Brown - McClay Funeral Home in Bristol on Saturday April 24th from 5 to 8 p.m.

WILLIAM STEWART ANDREWS

 

West Addison - William "Bill" Stewart Andrews, 93, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, April 20, 2010, at Porter Hospital in Middlebury, VT.

    Bill was born December 21, 1916, in Troy, NY, the only son of William H. and Amy (Stewart) Andrews.

    Bill grew up and attended schools in Bennington, VT. After graduating from Bennington High School he attended New York Military Academy on a music scholarship.

    Bill married Eileen Wager in 1944 in Bennington, VT. They moved to Vergennes in 1947 to work at the Weeks School. They were cottage parents there and became very close to many of the young men who passed through their doors. Bill was also the director of the Drum and Bugle Corp at the Weeks School.

    Bill was an accomplished trumpet player and enjoyed playing and listening to jazz. He played with many bands over the years, the Vermonters, the Music Messengers and the latest band he played in was the Little City Jazz Band.

    Bill was a charter member of the Vergennes Lions Club. He was a Mason and a member of the Vergennes Legion. Bill was a proud Veteran of World War II. He served on the Select Board and the Zoning Board in the town of Panton.

    He leaves behind his two daughters and their families. Susan Andrews-Duke and her husband Alan and their son Brendan of Ferrisburgh and Connie Everest and her husband Sid of West Addison and their son Brett of Charlestown, MA.

    The family would like to give special thanks to Walt, Rita and Kim from the Addison County Home Health and Hospice and the wonderful group of nurses, doctors and staff at Porter Hospital.

    A Memorial Service will be held at the Vergennes Legion on Monday, April 26, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. with graveside service following.

Louis Joseph Boise Jr.

 

New Haven - Louis Joseph Boise Jr. 86 passed away on Tuesday April 20, 2010 in Burlington Health and Rehab facility surrounded by his loving family. Louis was born September 29, 1923 in Troy, New Hampshire the son of Louis Joseph Boise Sr. and Victoria Marrotte.

    Louis married Irene Rose Bolduc on April 27, 1943 in Bridport, VT. He is survived by his loving wife and soul mate of 67 years, Irene. Son Thomas and wife Carol, son Steve and wife Andrea, daughter Victoria and husband Peter Coffey, and son Kevin “Cubby” and wife Susan, and daughter-in-law Sheila Boise. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He also leaves his only brother Arthur “Bud” Boise who will surely miss the daily “how do calls” and his partner Jean Forgues. He also leaves a special foster son Robert Kemp and his wife Midge. He was predeceased by his parents and a son Dennis in 2003.

    Louis moved to New Haven in 1947 from Weybridge. He then farmed for 11 years before deciding to purchase his first dump truck in 1958. He worked on various road projects in the five town area. He later worked for Roger Fuel’s, MacIntyre Fuels, Northern Oil Co. and retired from Pike Industries after 19 years of service. He was very proud of how many hours he could work and still get up early and be back at work the next day. Louis loved horses and was a member of the Northeast Draft Horse Pulling Association. He attended many pulling events throughout the Northeast with Irene. Louis loved life, loved his family and friends and will surely be missed by all that knew him, and with his favorite parting phrase we will say “see ya later”.

    A mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Friday April 23rd at St Ambrose Catholic Church in Bristol. Interment will be in St Mary’s Cemetery in Middlebury. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St Ambrose Caring Community, Bristol, VT 05443.

Lyle Wayne Webb Sr.

Shoreham- Lyle Wayne Webb Sr. 73 passed away suddenly Thursday April 22, 2010 at Porter Medical Center in Middlebury.

      He was born November 22, 1936 in Lincoln the son of Harry and Katie (Clark) Webb.

      Lyle went to school in Lincoln. He enjoyed family get-togethers, old tyme fiddling music, Tunbridge Fair, and his church. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Lincoln. He retired from Middlebury College, self employed most recently working for Jack Goodman and Dalton Oliver for many years. He liked to keep busy.

     He married Judith A. Blanchard, mother of his children August 30, 1955; Marjorie Manning on November 24, 2002.

     He is survived by his wife Marjorie (Grant) Webb of Shoreham; children Lyle Webb Jr. and partner Pauline Renaud of Ripton; James Webb and partner Marilyn Larocque of Ripton; Kathy Webb and partner George Pendrok of Addison; Richard Webb and wife Cynthia of East Middlebury; Sherry Williams of Brandon; step children Susan Manning of Shelburne; Peter Manning of Ripton; many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

     Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. on Wednesday April 28th at Lincoln United Church. Interment will be in Maple Cemetery in Lincoln. There will be no public calling hours. Brown-McClay Funeral Home in Bristol will be in charge of arrangements.

Phyllis Florence Parker

New Haven- Phyllis Florence Parker, 77, died Thursday April 22 at Helen Porter Nursing Home in Middlebury.

   Phyllis was born February 28,1933 in New Haven, the daughter of Charles and Lucy (Sanders) Sawyer. Phyllis grew up on the family farm in New Haven. She married Howard "Marshall" Parker in 1953. In 1961 they built a home on a small piece of land across the road from the farm, where she lived until a week before her passing.

   As a teenager Phyllis enjoyed 4H, playing her cello, and spending special time with her dog Tootie. In the early years Phyllis worked outside the home at Greg's Market in Middlebury and Van Raalte in Bristol. After the birth of her first son in 1959 Phyllis became a devoted homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, reading, and playing the piano in her spare time. But her life was her family, taking care of Charlie until her very last days.

   Phyllis was predeceased by her husband Marshall in 2001.  She is survived by her two sons, Charles Parker of New Haven, Scott Parker and his wife Nicole of Colfax, NC; brother Kenneth Sawyer and his wife, Suzanne, of New Haven; sisters Genevieve Eldredge of AZ, and Mary Keller of CA; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins; She was predeceased by several brothers and sisters.

   Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 27 at 11:am at the New Haven Congregational Church. Interment will follow at the Greenwood Cemetery in Bristol. Friends may call at the Brown McClay Funeral Home in Bristol between 7:00 and 8:30pm on Monday April 26. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the New Haven Congregational Church.
