Students in Instructor Rita Wells RN, MSN, CLNC Health Careers class at the Patricia A. Hannaford Career Center introduce one of their long time staff members.  In the Health Careers curriculum, students like the young women pictured above and others are provided with a unique and important opportunity to explore a variety of health careers, including: training requirements, roles and responsibilities, certification, and licensure related to the profession.  Students receive extensive exposure to a large array of clinical areas and this allows them a hands-on opportunity to more clearly focus their interest in a specific area of study in the medical field.  Qualified students can earn college credits from CCV for successful completion of course work.  Porter Hospital, Porter Health and Rehabilitation Center, The Vermont Board of Nursing and D&S Technologies are all strong supporters of this curriculum at Hannaford.  Hannaford Career Center’s Open House Showcase on Thursday February 11th, 2010 gave the students an opportunity to meet guests and introduce them to their class room environment.
