RICHARD W. BROCK

MIDDLEBURY - Richard W. Brock 86, died early Sunday morning February 7, 2010 at his residence in East Middlebury.

    He was born February 21, 1923 in Auburn, NY the son of the late Walter B. & Mabel (Chapin) Brock.  He attended local schools in the Mountain Lake Park, Maryland area and was a Graduate of Middlebury College.

    He was a United States Army Veteran having served in WW II.

    He married the love of his life Bunny (Marion Murray) on June 13, 1944 at St. Stephens Episcopal Church in Middlebury.

    Richard was a Data Processing Manager for Village Super Markets in Springfield, NJ for many years.

    He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed playing cards, working on and programming computers and enjoyed hiking and spending time with his family.

    Survivors are his wife Marion (Murray) Brock, of East Middlebury, his four children, Susie Martell & her husband Richard, of East Middlebury, Christopher Brock & his wife Marilyn, of Manorville, NY, Jason Brock & his wife Donna, of Hackettstown, NJ and Kimberly Brock, of Tinton Falls, NJ.; his two sisters, Marian See and Edith Brock, by his seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

    He was predeceased by his parents and his two brothers, Alvin & Lawrence Brock and his sister Dorothy Leighton.

    Funeral Service were held on Wednesday February 10, 2010 at 11 AM with calling hours from 10 Am till the time of the service at Sanderson-Ducharme Funeral Home 117 South Main Street Middlebury.

    Burial will be at a later date.

E. DARLENE (HOLCOMB) TRUDEAU

NEW HAVEN - E. Darlene (Holcomb) Trudeau, 70 passed away Saturday February 6, 2010 at Fletcher Allen Healthcare in Burlington.

    She was born January 29, 1940 in Charlotte the daughter of Harley and Edith (Bessette) Holcomb.

    She graduated from Burlington High School in 1958. Then she married her husband Edgar (Beaver) Trudeau on October 24, 1958. She worked at Middlebury College for twenty six years then retired, and her husband Beaver worked at Champlain Construction for twenty two years. Darlene dedicated herself to working with her husband operating their business Beavers Cab. Also serving the local community through her 24 hour answering service.

    Darlene is survived by her husband Edgar (Beaver) Trudeau of New Haven; four daughters, Tamara Allday and husband Jerry, Cheyanne Warner, Donna Meacham and husband Bruce, Loralee Spooner; a son Matthew Trudeau; 16 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; a brother Carlyle (Butch) Holcomb and wife Marion of Hinesburg; sister in law Alice Holcomb of Essex; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a son Christopher (Bozo) Trudeau; a brother Lyman (Bud) Holcomb; four sisters Lois, Janet, Corinne, and Marion.

    A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. on Saturday February 13th at Brown- McClay Funeral Home in Bristol. Interment will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to American Heart Association Vermont Affiliate, 434 Hurricane Lane, Williston, VT 05495, or American Diabetes Association Vermont Affiliate, 77 Hegeman Ave., Colchester, VT 05446.

Dorothy A. Fisher

New Haven Mills - Dorothy A. Fisher, died February 11, 2010 at her home after a long illness. A lifetime resident of the Mills, she was born there on January  2, 1919, the fourth of five daughters of R. Joseph and Emily (Booska) Angier. She graduated from Beeman Academy in 1936. Soon after, while working in Vergennes, she met her husband, Edward Fisher, and they were married in St. Ambrose Church in Bristol, Vermont.

    During World War II, Dorothy went to Aircraft School and worked at Chance Vought in Hartford, Connecticut. She was proud to say that she worked on the B17 airplane. Near the war's end, Dorothy returned to the family farm where she lived until her death. There she raised her two children, cared for aged parents and others, all the while tending farm and housework. Foremost, she was a caregiver to all people, old or young, as well as to animals and plants. Dorothy took great pride in her surroundings, particularly in the lawns, flower and vegetable gardens, and her beloved Boston Red Sox.

    A thrifty and generous person, with a strong and keen mind, she was able to engage in a good conversation or argument until her final hours. She could also balance her checkbook in her head, and remembered many with generous gift checks.

    She is survived by her son, Thomas, and his wife, Barbara of Addison, Vermont; a daughter, Bonnie Gardner, and her companion, Andrew Moyer, of Atkinson, New Hampshire; Four grandchildren, Lori Loyer, and her husband, Thomas, of Shelburne, Vermont; Martha Santa Maria, and her husband, Rick, of Addison, Vermont; David Gardner, and his wife, Nikki, of Williamsburg, Massachusetts; and, Thomas Garbarino, and his wife, Annique, of Putney, Vermont. Dorothy was especially proud to be a great grandmother to Jena and Dominick Santa Maria, Emily and Jake Loyer, Luke Gardner, and Samuel Garbarino, as well as a special grand nephew, Rick Sullivan, of Bristol, and a special neighbor and long time friend, Barbara Martell.

    She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Edward Fisher, her sisters Irene King, Bernice Daigneault, Gladys Lawrence and Joy Sullivan, and her special nephew Joseph Sullivan and her son-in-law John Gardner.

    The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Joseph Winget of South Burlington, Dr. Gamal Eltabbakh of South Burlington, and Dr. Wendy Puls of Bristol. Home health nurse Pat Wright and Health Aide Carol King. Her special caregiver Dale Fleming, and also the staff at Addison Home Health and Hospice for their excellent care during her long illness.

    Dorothy lived a long and rewarding life, and will be remembered with kindness by all that knew her.

    At Dorothy's request, a memorial service will be held at the family's convenience followed by a burial in Mount St. Joseph Cemetery in Bristol, hopefully on a warm, sunny, spring day--a day she would have preferred to dig dandelion greens.
