Greg’s Meat Market Changes Ownership

Greg’s meat market in Middlebury officially changed ownership this week. greg wry, who has owned the Market since 1981, sold his business to Bart Litvin and Lisa Hartman. Greg purchased what was then called Stan’s Market from Stan in 1981. Under Greg’s leadership the store has tripled in size since it’s purchase . The store employees around 60 full and part time employees. Greg, known to everyone as a friendly, hard working and a generous owner, credits a lot of his success to the devoted staff, many of whom have been there for years. He said “I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to my many loyal customers, employees, and my family. I have completely enjoyed my business and I look forward to continuing my work with the Middlebury Lion’s Club and as a new volunteer with the Make A Wish Foundation. I wish Bart the very best.”
Bart, the new owner, said “Greg had a wining recipe with customer service, buying local, and playing an important role in the community. We will continually encourage local producers to call or stop by. We will also keep the same level of service, and value. We love this area and look forward as new owners to work with our employees, customers, and local suppliers.
Gary, produce manager, with 29 years experience (14 years at Greg’s) and before that with Greg at the A&P in Middlebury. Gary said “Greg is a one of a kind boss and friend and I will miss him. I wish him all the best. I look forward to working with the new owner Bart.”
Paul, meat room manager said, “Greg is a great boss and dear friend . He deserves to retire and relax. I wish Bart the best and hope our loyal customers continue to shop at Greg’s for best value & price.”
Sean, night manager, has worked with Greg at A&P and at Greg’s Market. “We will continue to offer great service. I will miss Greg and wish him well. I look forward to working with Bart.”
Neil, office manager, was quoted as saying, “There is only one Greg and he will still be seen at the store but not at the capacity he was. I wish Bart all the best.”
Raymond, assistant manager, for about 13 years says, “We will miss Greg, I have enjoyed working with him and I look forward to working with Bart.
We at the Valley voice offer our congratulations to bart and to greg. We welcome Bart to the community. Greg thank you for a job well done.
