On Sunday November 22, 2009, Neil Gruber and Mike Cameron completed their lake long paddle of Lake Champlain to help raise money to fund this summer’s ferry boat excursion for the residents of Helen Porter Heath and Rehabilitation Center here in Middlebury.  It was the second end to end accomplishment for Gruber who paddled the lake alone several years ago.  This year he asked Cameron who is an avid sea kayaker to join him.  The pair began their journey at South Bay near Whitehall New York and ended their quest near the Canadian border in Missisquoi Bay.

To the right, Top to Bottom Gruber and Cameron sit in their kayaks with the Quebec shoreline over their shoulders.  Then it was back to the Missisquoi Bay Bridge Fishing Access for a champagne toast and a warm change of clothes before heading home.  A complete article about their interesting summer and fall travels by kayak on the lake will appear in a later edition of the Voice.
