On Thursday evening October 29th the official groundbreaking ceremony took place for the new state of the art MVAA facility to be built on Collins Avenue in Middlebury.  The new MVAA building was designed by Bread Loaf Corporation and will feature a two-story structure that houses trucks and equipment on the first floor and staff living quarters on the second floor. All vehicles will be kept in one building, rather than in multiple buildings as they are now housed.  The new building will include a training room which will also be available for community events.  The facility is scheduled to open in June of 2010. LtoR above include MVAA Chief Operations Officer William Edson, Addison County Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Andy Mayer, Chittenden Bank Vice President Chris Anderson, MVAA Life Member Wedge Murdoch MVAA Board of Directors President Michelle Perlee, Middlebury College Business Services Director Tom Corbin, Project Architect Tim Duff and Bread Loaf Construction Vice President Mike McLaughlin.  The 5:30 p.m. event drew interested townspeople and local officials.
