The Champlain Philharmonic Orchestra, under the baton of guest conductor Paul Gambill, welcomes well-known pianist Diana Fanning to perform one of the most beloved pieces in the American classical music repertoire – Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue.

This exciting program will also include Aaron Copland's El Salon Mexico and Dvorak's Symphony No. 8.

Diana Fanning has toured extensively as a soloist and chamber musician throughout the eastern U.S. and Europe.  She has performed with the Vermont Symphony Orchestra and played Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 3 at the Champlain Philharmonic's debut concert in 2004.

Guest conductor Paul Gambill is founder and music director of Orchestra Nashville and the Nashville Ballet, which performs with the Nashville Symphony.  His recordings have been nominated for a Grammy and have won many national awards.

Since its founding in 2004 by David Gusakov and Dieuwke Davydov, the Champlain Philharmonic has delighted audiences of all ages with concerts in Addison County.  In recent seasons the Orchestra has performed at the Vergennes Opera House and the Middlebury College Mahaney Center for the Arts, and this year it plays for the first time at Middlebury’s Town Hall Theater.

Performances will be Friday, November 6 at the Vergennes Opera House and Saturday, November 7 at Middlebury's Town Hall Theater.  Both concerts begin at 7:30pm.
