Edmond J. Demers

Addison - Edmond J. Demers, 78 of Addison died peacefully at home October 7, 2009 after a nine year battle with renal cell carcinoma.

    Born in Manchester, NH to Ernest Portrie and M. Louise (Lambert), survived by wife of 42 years, Jane (White), son Joseph, daughter Ellen (Christopher Trono), grandchildren Jacob Demers, Gianna and Dylan Trono, brothers Robert (Lorraine) Demers, Donald (Sharon) Demers, and their families.

    He was predeceased by his father, step-father (Alexis Demers), mother, and infant brother Ernest.

    He served 12 years in the Army, returned stateside to work at the Portsmouth Navy Yard, then came to work for Simmonds Precision in the aerospace and aircraft programs for 29 years.

    The family wishes to thank his many medical doctors for their care over the years, as well as Addison County Home Health and Hospice for helping make his final days comfortable.

    In accordance with his wishes there will be no visiting hours or funeral. A simple graveside service will take place on Sunday October 18th at 2:30 p.m. at the Grand View Cemetery, Rte. 22A. Addison, VT. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Addison County Home Health & Hospice, PO Box 754, Middlebury, VT 05753.
