Saturday, August 28 & 29, 2009, The City of Vergennes, VT and the Vergennes Area Chamber of Commerce (a division of the Addison County Chamber of Commerce) invite you to their 28th annual city-wide celebration with festivities to appeal to all ages! FREE shuttle service by Victory Baptist Church & ACTR will be available to all venues & VUHS parking lot. Restrooms in Park & City Hall
Friday, August 28
7-11 pm Street Dance featuring the “Hitmen” City Park – Park St. (near bandstand)Donations accepted
Saturday, August 29
7 am -10:30 am Fire Dept. Pancake Breakfast (adults $8, children under 12 - $6, under 6 free)
9 am City Park Little City 5K & 10K Race and Walk (start at Vergennes Opera House) Pre Registration www.RunVermont.org.  Race day registration 8:00 - 8:45am at Steven’s House – corner of Main & North Green St.
9 am – 4 pm St. Peter's Parish Hall Rummage Sale
10 am – 11 am City Park Vergennes City Band
10 am – 2 pm Bixby Library Book sale, Vergennes Area Rescue Squad will provide food, give out goodie bags; Safe Kids Addison County will inspect and fit a limited supply of bike helmets.
10 am – 12 noon VUHS Soccer Field Champlain Valley Flyers (radio controlled airplanes)
10 am – 2 pm VUHS Chainsaw carving demonstration
10 am – 3 pm Falls Park at the Basin (KidZone)
Amyland Amusements (rides, bounce house, cotton candy, hot dogs, etc. $)
Games & Face painting by the Boys & Girls Club
10 am - 4 pm VUHS Vermont Army National Guard Vehicles, quarter back
toss with prizes, climbing wall & obstacle course (weather permitting)
10 am - 4 pm VUHS Car Show (802-475-2853) Tractors, trucks & engines
Green Mountain Flywheeler's Antique Gas and Steam Engine Club
10 am – 4 pm City Park 75 plus crafters/vendors Hand painting by Grandma Phyllis

11:30 am - 2:30 pm Fire Dept. Open House-Bubble pit, 1925 Boyer Fire Truck Fire protection display, slide show of local fires & Vergennes Fire department training
12 pm VUHS VT Fencing

12:30-1:30 Bixby Library 333 Vergennes resident's ideas about how to improve their city in the Art of Action work, presented by the artist, Annemie Curlin.

2 pm Vergennes Opera House Vermont singers and storytellers Rik Palieri and Tom Stamp present tales from the Champlain Valley and beyond as part of the Vergennes Opera House's
ongoing Champlain Valley Storytellers' Series, "Myth, History, Legend and Lore". FREE!
2:30 pm – 4 pm City Park LC Jazz 3 pm Vergennes Dock
Carillon Cruise special: One-way Vergennes dock to Shoreham (4.5 hr. cruise down Otter Creek to Lake Champlain and south to Shoreham dock. Passengers will be bussed back to their cars in Vergennes. $35 www.carilloncruises.com or 802-897-5331
