The 2009 Helen Porter Health and Rehabilitation Center Quadricentennial Cruise on Lake Champlain was a logistical challenge handled with great care and consideration by dozens of nurses, nursing assistants, activities staff, dietary staff, housekeeping and laundry staff and administrators. 66 residents and approximately 90 of their family members used 6 rented handicapped buses with lifts, 1 handicapped van, 3 pick-ups and 1 cargo truck to carry wheelchairs, stretchers and walkers, plus 40 portable coolers with lunches for 220.
