I would like to tell you about a wonderful person who would make you a cake that would be the highlight of any occasion. It might be a birthday, a wedding or a retirement party, and it can be as creative as you can dream. It can be a big or little cake and can be chocolate, vanilla, white or marbled, round or long, layered or multi-layered. In short, it will be the highlight of your gathering and will be tasty as well as a work of art.

Watching her create a cake is like watching an artist at work. As she bakes the cake she gets here frosting and color images ready. I watched her make a cake with a detailed image of a man on a motorcycle on it, created from a color photo. She sketches on the computer and chooses her colors. She sets her frostings and icing in the freezer to see as she begins her task. The finished cake is not only a delight to eat, but is an exact replica of the requested image, making the cake a personal experience for the individual receiving it.

This young lady is very versatile and does many things. She went to school at New England College in Henniker, New Hampshire. During her senior year in England she took family members of tours in various countries in Europe. She returned to the United States and continued her studies for her Masters in Business.

Another special talent she has is making quilts. It might be a wedding present or a baby quilt. Besides all of that she finds time to help her grandmother (me) with her computer and on holidays she and her mother take turns fixing the family dinner for about twenty-five people. While I am popping my buttons with pride at all of my grandchildren, I just wanted to introduce to everyone this special and creative woman who is never to busy to help in her community and who creates masterpieces of art with her cakes. As her grandmother I get to see her in action and wanted to share her work with all of the Valley Voice readers.
