RAYMOND HOLBROOK

BRANDON - Raymond Charles Holbrook, 26, died Monday, June 15, 2009, at his home in Brandon.

   He was born in Middlebury on Jan. 6, 1983. He was the son of Charles and Elaine (Gill) Holbrook II. He grew up in Ripton where he received his early education. He attended Middlebury High School, class of 2001.

   He was a resident of Brandon for the past year and a half. He was a journeyman brick mason and stonemason. In the winter months he worked at Middlebury Snow Bowl as a member of the snowmaking team. Friends say he enjoyed playing softball and hunting. He was an avid fan of the Red Sox and Miami Dolphins. His passion was fishing. He was an accomplished fly fisherman as well. He loved spending time with family and friends.

   He is survived by his father, Charles Holbrook II and fiancée Louise Smith of Ripton; his mother, Elaine McCray and stepfather Jerry of Forest Dale; his brother, Charles Holbrook III of Forest Dale; his paternal grandmother, Elaine Holbrook of Salisbury; his maternal grandmother, Jeanine Gill of Whiting; his partner-in-life, Christina Keane of Brandon; and his adopted family, Orrin, April, Heather and Melissa Smith.

   He was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Charles Holbrook I, and his maternal grandfather, Raymond Gill Jr.

   The memorial service “In Celebration of His Life” will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2009, at 11 a.m. at the Middlebury American Legion. Gary Stanley, a family friend, will officiate. Following the ceremony, the family will receive friends for a time of fellowship and remembrance.

   There were no public calling hours.

Albert D. DeVine

Ferrisburgh - Albert D. DeVine, 92 passed away Wednesday June 24, 2009 at Helen Porter Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center in Middlebury.

  He was born March 6, 1917 in Ferrisburgh the son of Ernest and Faith Chapman DeVine.

  Albert grew up in Ferrisburgh and he worked as a farmer, electrician, and at the weeks school. He was a gold medalist table tennis player at the National Senior Games and he was a semi professional player since 1980. He was an avid fisherman, canoeist, and enjoyed camping. Also, he was a member of board of directors at Rokeby Museum in Ferrisburgh. Extremely devoted father, grandfather, great grandfather and Episcopalian.

    Predeceased by his wife Doris (Palmer) DeVine September 5, 1999.

    Albert is survived by his son Jack DeVine and his wife Gloria of Ferrisburgh, his daughter Judy Langeway and husband Alan of Ferrisburgh, four granddaughters Lori, Lisa, Katie, and Beth, eight great grandchildren Katlin, Erica, Matthew, Ryan, Clarinda, Hunter, Owen, and Faith, several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his brother Karl DeVine and a sister Mary (DeVine) Rossier.

    A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. on Tuesday June 30th at St. Paul Episcopal Church in Vergennes a reception will follow. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday June 30th at Gage Cemetery in Ferrisburgh. Friends may call at Brown-McClay Funeral Home in Vergennes on Monday June 29th from 6 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers contributions maybe made to St. Paul Episcopal Church, PO Box 196, Vergennes, VT, or Rokeby Museum, 4334 Route 7, Ferrisburgh, VT 05456.

Noella Y. (Newly) Jackson

Ferrisburgh- Noella Y. (Newly) Jackson, 67 passed away Saturday June 27, 2009 at Fletcher Allen Healthcare in Burlington.

    She was born December 25, 1941 in Burlington the daughter of the late Henry and Germaine (LeClair) Turpin.

    She worked at Goodrich in Vergennes for 29 years. Noella was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister.

    Noella is survived by her husband David Jackson of Ferrisburgh, two daughters Laura Marcelle and husband Ricki of Ferrisburgh, Lisa Shannon and husband Michael of West Addison, two grandchildren Heather and Samantha, a brother Arthur Turpin of Meriden, CT, several nieces and nephews, two best friends Phyllis Perry and Shirley Lucia. Predeceased by a sister Theresa Miller and a brother Paul Turpin.

    A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. on Thursday July 2nd at Brown - McClay Funeral Home in Vergennes. Interment will be in Prospect Cemetery in Vergennes. Friends may call at Brown - McClay Funeral Home in Vergennes on Wednesday July 1st from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers Addison County Home Health & Hospice, PO Box 754, Middlebury, VT 05753.
