Mater Christi School Hosts Singing Group

Tuesday June 9, 2009
For their afternoon treat on Spirit Day/Field Day, Mater Christi School students in Kindergarten - Grade 5 gathered for a music performance by a group who call themselves “Sweet Transitions.” The children were enthralled by the a cappella group of students from Mt. Abraham Union High School whose harmonization’s ranged from old popular songs to current jazz, all without any accompaniment. Accompaniment they certainly did not need as their vocalizations were the perfect sounds for the melodies they sang!
The group of 14 high school students is directed by Mrs. Megan LaRosa, whose interactive style provides a special attraction for younger children. Since the group began two years ago, it has performed in several locations throughout central and northern Vermont.
Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the performance, including not only the younger students, but also the parents, teachers, and staff members of Mater Christi School who were fortunate enough to listen to “Sweet Transitions!”
