Middlebury’s Dr. Brian Layton Saltzman D.M.D., PC has been recognized by The Consumer Research Council of America as one of Americas Top Dentists.  Dr. Saltzman has been practicing dentistry for almost 10 years and has been practicing here in Middlebury since Decenber of 2007.  He is a strong proponent of early childhood dental care and providing children with information and encouragement to form lifelong oral health habits.  On Friday, Feburary 5, 2009, Dr. Saltzman was again recognized in the City of Springfield Mass for his work in the No Tooth Left Behind Program.  Before establishing his practice in Middlebury Dr. Saltzman was an associate dentist in Springfield and treated children and disadvantaged persons who were in need of care but were not covered by health insurance.  He was honored by the City of Springfield. Mass. as a “Home Town Hero.”

Dr. Saltzman was asked about the recent recognition and what it meant to him and he immediately began to credit the people on his staff here in Middlebury and the professionals and lay people he worked with in Springfield.  “You have to give back. Good oral health is very important and current research tells us that it can affect many other parts of the body including your heart and other organs.  It is also important to begin good oral health habits at an early age,” he explained.
