Lucille (Lucy) Cousino

Bristol/Vergennes - Lucille (Lucy) Cousino 80 passed away Saturday January 3, 2009 at the home of Carl and Sue LaBerge in Vergennes surrounded by her family.

    She was born June 27, 1928 in Middlebury the daughter of Philip and Clara Danyew Forrest.

    She was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Bristol, Bristol American Legion Auxiliary and VFW Auxiliary in Middlebury.

    Predeceased by her husband of 49 years Benjamin Frank Cousino May 3, 1997.

    Lucy is survived by five children, Ronald and Bethany Cousino of Brandon; Marilyn and Fred Napoleon of New Haven; Alan Cousino and Kelly Bliss of Essex Jct; Thomas Cousino and wife Pamela Simpers of Malletts Bay; Christopher and Patricia Cousino of Vergennes; 13 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; two sisters, Ruth Jacobs of Middlebury; Teresa and husband Raymond Churchill of Middlebury; two brothers, Philip Forrest of Middlebury; Francis Forrest of Middlebury; a sister in law Doris Cousino of South Burlington; many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by two sisters and three brothers.

    A mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Wednesday January 7th at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Bristol. Interment was in Mt. St. Joseph Cemetery in Bristol. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 121 Connor Way, Williston, VT 05495.

Henry J. Caron, Jr.

 

Vergennes - Henry J. Caron, Jr., 70, of Vergennes died Jan. 9, 2009 at Helen Porter Nursing Home in Middlebury after a long illness.

    He was a brother, husband, father and grandfather.

    Henry was born in Barre, VT on May 9, 1938 to Henry and Pearl (Hedding) Caron, Sr.

    He married his wife Jean (Chapman) Caron Feb. 11, 1961.

    Henry leaves his family; his wife Jean of Vergennes; his children Monica Richards of Burlington, Mark Caron of Vergennes, Marcia Rounds and her husband Floyd of Addison; his grandchildren Michael Caron of Maine, Matthew and Brianna Caron of Essex, Kalob, Michael and Kiley Gagnon of Addison, Ariel Caron of Chester/Springfield.  He is also survived by his siblings Richard Caron of Rutland, Wayne Hussey and his wife Charlene of Krum, Texas, Shirley Lund of Bradford; several nieces and nephews.  He is predeceased by his parents and siblings Jane Jewett, Joseph Caron, Francis Steel; also a son-in-law Gordan Richards. 

    Henry was in the Marine Corps Reserves then the National Guards. He also used to belong to the Vergennes Fire Department.

    Henry started the Bristol Softball League with another member.  He also started the Addison County Umpires Association with another member.  He managed C&F LeBeau softball team and the Wire Wheel softball team which won three state championships.

    He worked at Simmonds/Hercules/Goodrich for many years.  He was also a member of Eagles Club Aeries #3801 and the American Legion Post 14 of Vergennes.

    A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 1 p.m. on Monday January 12th at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Vergennes. Interment will be in Prospect Cemetery in Vergennes. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 121 Connor Way, Williston, VT 05495, or Project Independence, 112 Exchange Street, Middlebury, VT 05753.
