Edward (Hap) B. Phillips

Bristol - Edward (Hap) B. Phillips, 79 died Monday December 8, 2008 at Vermont Veterans Home in Bennington.

   He was born May 5, 1929 in Lincoln the son of Charles and Mildred (Poland) Phillips.

   Hap was employed at the Bobbin Mill in Lincoln, before joining the Army as Pvt. 1st Class during the Korean Conflict. After honorable discharge from the Army, he worked for the National Forest Service. Later he was employed by the State Highway Department working out of New Haven until his retirement.

   Hap is survived by his brother Henry Phillips and his wife Martha of Monkton; a sister Elaine Roback of Leonardsville, New York; along with several nieces and nephews. Hap was predeceased by his parents, his brothers Earl and Charles, and a sister Ruth Gardiner.

   Services for Hap will be at a later date.

Joanne M. Brown

Middlebury - Joanne M Brown, 68, died Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at her home in Middlebury.

   She was born on December 21, 1939 in Middlebury the daughter of Edmund and Georgiana (Shackett) Cousino.

   Joanne was predeceased by her husband J Leo Robidoux on August 26, 1995.

   She is survived by her husband Gerald Brown of Middlebury, three children Leo Robidoux of Middlebury, Brenda Robidoux and long time partner Raymond Regnaud of Lincoln, Randy Robidoux of KY. Two step daughters, Pam Brown of Castleton, Barbara Brown of Wells, three grandchildren Kristian, Evan, Thomas, three brothers, two sisters, Frank and Sandy Cousino of Burlington, Edmund and Mary Cousino of CT., Bill and Janice Cousino of Bristol, Pauline and John Gearwar of Bristol, Connie and Jim Cyr of CT, several nieces and nephews. Joanne was predeceased by five sisters and a brother.

   Funeral services will be held Monday Dec. 15 at 11a.m. at the Brown-McClay Funeral Home in Bristol. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Bristol. Friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Contributions may be made to the Addison County Home Health and Hospice, Middlebury 05753.

 

Anthony Dean Ringer

Vergennes-  Anthony Dean Ringer, 53 lost his courageous battle with cancer on Thursday December 11, 2008 with his loving family by his side.

         He was born on March 18, 1955 in Burlington. He attended VUHS and VTC. For the last 35 years, when he wasn’t fishing, he was a printed circuit board designer at Goodrich in Vergennes. Tony will be remembered as a fun loving, practical joker, who was always willing to lend a hand and tell you what he really thought.

        He is survived by his wife of 34 years Wendy Cushman Ringer, his daughter and son- in- law Ashley and Damon Bungard of Burlington; his favorite son Jacob Ringer and friend Kristen Bissonette, his brothers Frederick and Mike of Essex; Patrick and his wife Patricia of Kendall Park, NJ; his sister Mary Essex and her husband David of Ferrisburg and Luanne Mailloux and her husband Paul of Vergennes; mother-in-law Evelyn Cushman; brothers and sisters-in-law Pat Ganson of Vergennes; Carolyn and John Allen of Charlotte; Margaret and Gary Schelley of Montpelier; Lynn and Julie Cushman of Washington; Fred Cushman of New Haven; Ken and Shayne Cushman of New Haven; Frances and Charles Simpson of Waltham; Elaine and Mathew Carrol of Mass.; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

        He was predeceased by his parents, Lucille (Patrie) Ringer and Frederick Charles Ringer and his father-in-law Kenneth Cushman and brother-in-law Wayne Ganson.

        Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Tuesday December 16th at Brown-McClay Funeral Home in Vergennes. Interment will be in Prospect Cemetery in Vergennes. Visiting hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday December 15th at Brown- McClay Funeral Home in Vergennes. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to American Cancer Society, 121 Connor Way, Williston, VT 05495.
