Family Owned Sears Store Opens On Exchange Street In Middlebury

    Sears Authorized Retail Dealer Store located at 383 Exchange Street, Middlebury. The store is owned and operated by the Harrington family—Mike, Kym, Ashley, Chad, Jared, Michaela and Seth—all of Leicester, Vermont.  The Chamber conducted a ribbon cutting ceremony at the new store on November 17th.

   There are five additional employees, other than family members, and the Harringtons hope to add more local jobs in the future. Owner Kym Harrington stated, “We wanted to offer the Middlebury community something it really needed, and with a name like Sears, how could we go wrong?”
The store carries appliances, electronics, tools, lawn and garden equipment, exercise equipment, vacuums, snow blowers, generators and much more. Customers will be able to place orders at www.sears.com and have them delivered free of charge to the Exchange Street location. This service is available for any product sold by Sears.

   So far the community support has been overwhelming. Kym said, “So many people came into the store before we were even open to buy things.” She continued, “We really want to thank Newton-Burnham LLC for doing such a great job on our new facility and for building it to suit our needs.”

   The store phone number is 802-388-4800. Hours are Mon-Fri: 8:00 am - 10:00 pm, Sat: 8:00 am - 10:00 pm and Sun: 8:00 am-9:00 pm
