Albert (Bud) Scully

Lincoln - Bud peacefully passed away after a long struggle with cancer.  

   Bud was born in Fort Thomas, KY. He was a World War II Veteran.  He served in the US Army, European Theater of War, and received the Bronze Star.  Bud graduated from Seton Hall University, member of American Legion, retired Field Engineer from VW of America, Ringwood, NJ Ambulance Squad and Bristol Rescue Squad for almost 30 years, served as Lister for Town of Lincoln for many years.

   He is survived by his wife Eleanor; six children, Kathleen and John Yurco of NJ, Karen Obert of NJ, Michael and wife Paula of PA, James of NJ, Patricia and partner Upashant Consolato of NJ, Eileen and partner Ed Religa of Canada; seven grandchildren, John Yurco of NJ, Chris Yurco of VT, Ben Yurco of VT, Sean and Ryan Scully of PA, Brittany Scully of AZ, and Matthew Scott of NJ; and many nieces and nephews, and his kitty kat Bootsie.

   A mass of Christian burial was held on Tuesday October 21st at St Ambrose Catholic Church in Bristol. Interment will be Maple Cemetery in Lincoln.

Richard R. Duprey

 

Ferrisburgh - Richard R. Duprey, 60 passed away Saturday October 18, 2008 surrounded by his family at his home in Ferrisburgh after a long illness.

   He was born February 26, 1948 in Proctor the son of Joseph and Frances (Pray) Duprey.

   Richard is survived by his long companion, Sandy Isherwood of Ferrisburgh; a son Joseph Duprey of Paris, France; two sisters Mary Dahlin and husband Dan of Proctor; Patricia Sheehan and husband David of Huntington, NY; four nephews, two nieces, and several cousins. Predeceased by a brother Joseph.

   A memorial service was  held  on Wednesday October 22nd at St. Dominic Church in Proctor. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery in Proctor. There will be no public calling hours. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 121 Connor Way, Williston, VT 05495. Brown McClay Funeral Home in Vergennes will be in charge of arrangements.

Leonard S. Holbrook Sr.

Waltham  - Leonard died peacefully on Sunday October 19, 2008 at his home.

    He was born August 6, 1927 in Monkton.

    He served a total of seventeen years in the US Navy during WWII and Korea and his rank was SH2. Lenny was happiest when he was doing the things he loved. He was a master craftsman, hunter, and fisherman. Also, he loved to restore cars and fix whatever was broken. He was always busy and when he wasn’t you would find him reading or cooking a tasty meal.

    He is survived by his loving wife Geneva O. Holbrook; a close granddaughter Jenny M. Lewis and husband Grant; seven children, Leonard S. Holbrook Jr. and children Abe, Leonard, William, Sanford S. Holbrook III; a daughter Tammy; a son Joseph Enos and wife Jacqueline; a son Robert Enos and wife Janey and children Miranda, Amy, Rob and Jonathan; a son Elton Holbrook and wife Lisa and children Lindsey and Melinda; a son Mark Holbrook and wife Michelle and children Mark and Matthew; daughter Laurie Holbrook and children Jenny, Shannon, and Ashley; son Sanford S. Holbrook II and wife Bobbi and children Brittney, Sanford C.J. Holbrook, and many great grandchildren; all of Vermont.

   There will be a family service at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Randolph to honor Leonard’s military service. He will be missed!!
