T to B Steve Dupois owner of County Tire in Middlebury gladly shows his “warrant,” after raising his “bail” to help Jerry’s Kids during the MDA fundraiser held at Green Peppers Restaurant in Middlebury on September 25th 2008 from 11am till 3pm. Mark Drazin and his staff hosted the event and Mark, Min, Monica, Don, Jessica, Phil and Amy enjoyed serving everyone some delicious Green Peppers favorites during the event. Mike McGrath owner of Mike’s Auto and Towing and McGrath Flooring Center was also able to “make his bail,” thanks to several generous area business people.     Participants were asked to raise $800 to send one child to MDA summer camp. All “Jailbirds” had their “mug shots” taken and turned in their “bail” (pre-raised funds).

Participants also had a chance to enjoyed a delicious Green Peppers lunch and visit with neighbors during the event.  Many business and community leaders enjoyed being “jailed” for Jerry’s Kids.    MDA is a voluntary health agency working to defeat neuromuscular diseases through worldwide research, comprehensive services, and far-reaching professional and public health education.  In addition to funding ground-breaking research, MDA maintains some 230 clinics nationwide, including Fletcher Allen Health Care and Fanny Allen.  Funds are also allocated to local support groups and a summer camp for kids with muscle-wasting diseases at the Double “H” Ranch in Lake Luzerne.     Anyone interested in donating money to the Muscular Dystrophy Association can contact Piper Allport at 1-806-862-6424 or [email protected]
