Joyce J. Carter

Bristol-Joyce J. Carter, 63 passed away Monday September 8, 2008 at her home in Bristol.

She was born May 13, 1945 in Ferrisburgh, the daughter of John and Ruth (Newville) Jerome.

My grandmother, Joyce Carter was a private person since she was young. She was very strong willed and never gave up on a battle she knew she could win. If  you needed advice she gave it, if you needed someone to talk to she listened, if you needed help she was there for you. It takes a bit to warm up to her, but once you earn her trust you could count on her for anything. Through the two months that she fought the cancer, we’ve had a tremendous amount of help between Tim ( an RN from Home Health) and including many others which are family members and friends that are close to the family. Without them, I don’t know what I would do if I didn’t have the help and moral support from everyone. Thank you au so much!

Joyce is survived by her husband Terry Carter of Bristol; two children, Anita Carter and Andrew Carter of Bristol; two grandchildren Britney and Parker of Bristol; three sisters Alice Prime, Evelyn Carter, and Joan Stevens four brothers John, Charles, Norbert and William; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her son Brian and Kevin.

Funeral services were held  on Thursday September 11th at Brown McClay Funeral Home in Bristol. Interment was in Mt St. Joseph Cemetery in Bristol. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 121 Connor Way, Williston, VT 05495.
