Anthony Elias (Tony) Thomas

BristoL-Tony Thomas, 96 died Sunday August 24, 2008 at Addison House in Middlebury.

  Tony was born April 1, 1912 in Ticonderoga, N.Y. the son of Elias and Sarah (Hubbard) Thomas.

   Both parents had immigrated from Lebanon in the early part of the 20th Century. Tony spent his youth and the majority of his adult life in Bristol. Along with his wife Madine they had numerous businesses in Bristol. The last of which was a retail store where they sold clothes and sporting goods. Tony had a love for hunting and fishing and was especially fond of pursuing the elusive white tail deer.

   Tony is survived by his wife Madine, and three children; Terry Thomas of Bristol, Joyce Connors and her husband Joseph of Mashpee, MA., Antoinette Bouchard and her husband Ronald of Shelburne, VT., Tony is also survived by six grandchildren, Aaron Thomas and his wife Sarah and their three children, Jacob, Sadie and Ella Adam Thomas of Lincoln; and Susan Thomas of San Francisco; Ronald A. Bouchard and his wife Susan and their daughter Bailey of Shelburne; Robert T Bouchard and his wife Becky and their daughters Jillian and Sydney of Shelburne; Jodi Bouchard of Creeskill, N.J., a sister, Helen Nutting of Florida. Tony was predeceased by his parents, seven sisters and a brother.

   There will be no calling hours. Burial will be at the family’s convenience. Condolences may be sent to: Madine Thomas, Addison House, 152 College Street, Middlebury, Vermont 05753. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Addison County Home Health & Hospice, PO Box 754, Middlebury, VT 05753. Brown McClay Funeral Home in Bristol will be in charge of arrangements.
