The traffic on Route 7 near the fire scene was reduced to one lane while firefighters battled the blaze on Tuesday, August 19th 2008 at around 2:35p.m. |

Salisbury firefighters prepare to extinguish the last remnants of a barn fire at The Nop Brothers & Sons cattle barn a short distance from the main dairy operation on Route 7, south of Middlebury on Tuesday, August 19th. Firefighters saved the large free-stall barn and 350 milking cows were safely moved from the barn to a nearby pasture. Firefighters from six area towns battled the blaze in gusty winds.
