Maynard R. Farr

South Starksboro - Maynard R. Farr, age 84, of South Starksboro died Sunday August 10, 2008 at Porter Medical Center in Middlebury.

    He was born May 23, 1924 in Lincoln, VT the son of Seymour M. and Leah M. (Butterfield) Farr.

    He attended Lincoln Schools. Maynard married Barbara Morrill on August 27, 1948 in Starksboro. He worked as a logger, then in the lumber mills and the last 21 years as a truck driver for Robinson Oil Company of Bristol until his retirement in 1988. Upon retiring he remained active returning to work in the forest in which he loved. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking.

    Maynard is survived by his wife, Barbara; daughters Kathleen Bushey and husband Dale of South Starksboro, Maxx Farr of Richmond, and a son Terry Farr of Bristol; two grandsons Brian Bushey and Kevin Bushey and granddaughter Robin Murray; six great grandchildren; three sisters, Muriel Orvis of Lincoln, Norma Carr of Bridport and Eleanor and Fred Thompson of Lincoln, several nieces and nephews.

    Predeceased by his parents and a brother Rolan.

    Funeral services were held on Wednesday August 13th at Lincoln United Church. Interment will be in Maple Cemetery in Lincoln.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Burnham Foundation, Lincoln Town Treasure, Lincoln, VT 05443.

Stephanie (Heyman) Masterson

Lincoln- Stephanie (Heyman) Masterson, 58 passed away unexpectedly Tuesday August 12, 2008.

            She was born June 8, 1950 in Proctor, VT the daughter of Walter Heyman and Patricia (Charron) Lafountain.

            She enjoyed traveling, spending time with her family, bowling, camping, fishing, boating, hunting and many other outdoor activities, most of all being NaNa to her grandboys.

            Stephanie is survived by her husband of thirty eight years Bill Masterson, a daughter Tammy LaPointe and her husband Matt and three grandchildren Adam, Zachary and Alex whom she adored so very much. She also leaves behind a stepfather Arthur Lafountain of Florida, five sisters Barbara Gevry of Forestdale, Mary and husband John Forand of Michigan, Chere Rhodes and husband Ron of East Middlebury, Kathy Lafayette and husband Norman of Bristol, and Jeanne Lane and husband Wayne of New Hampshire; five brothers, Thomas LaFlam of Rutland, Lonnie LaFlam of Florida, G. Peter LaFlam and his wife Trina of New Hampshire, Christopher LaFlam and his wife Tammy of New Haven, and Timothy LaFlam of Lincoln, mother in law Ivis Masterson of Lincoln, sister in law Joyce Reynolds and husband Morris of Williston; three brothers in law Lawrence Masterson and his wife Christine, Harold Masterson and his wife Anne, and Beanie Masterson and his wife Sheila all of Lincoln; best friend Jayne Cousino of Lincoln, Special nieces, nephews, aunts and uncle. Predeceased by her parents, step father Darrel LaFlam, and a brother Michael LaFlam.

            A memorial service was held  on Friday August 15th at Lincoln United Church.  In a lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Lincoln Fire Department & Lincoln First Response, Attn. Dan Ober, Creamery St. Lincoln, VT 05443.

Edith E. Sweet

Ferrisburgh- Edith E. Sweet, 82 passed away Tuesday August 12, 2008 at Porter Medical Center in Middlebury.

        She was born July 6, 1926 in Hinesburg the daughter of Daniel and Winona (Warren) Sweet.

       Edith is survived by two daughters, Jean Sweet of Ferrisburgh; Joan Freegard and husband Roger of Vergennes; a son, David Sweet of Ferrisburgh; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her four brothers and four sisters.

       A graveside service was held  on Saturday August 16th at Maplewood Cemetery in Huntington. There were no public calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Addison County Home Health & Hospice, PO Box 754, Middlebury, VT 05753, or Helen Porter Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center, South St., Middlebury, VT 05753.

Michael A. Robarge

Vergennes/ Berlin-Michael A. Robarge, 50 passed away Thursday August 14, 2008 at Fletcher Allen Healthcare in Burlington.

            He was born July 3, 1958 in Middlebury the son of Albert Robarge and Lorretta Robarge Hawkins.

            Michael is survived by four daughters, Heather, Sara, Thomye, and Mikayla; three grandchildren, Asa, MacKenzie, and Chanler; his mother Lorretta and husband Pete Hawkins. Predeceased by his father Albert Robarge, and a brother Jeff Robarge.

            Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. on Tuesday August 19th at Brown McClay Funeral Home in Vergennes.
