Hattie Cram

Lincoln - Hattie Cram went home to be with the Lord on Monday August 4, 2008 at her home in Lincoln.

    The daughter of Arthur and Edith (Brooks) Varney, she was born on February 18, 1914.

    Hattie attended school in Lincoln, and graduated from Bristol High School. She worked for Hattie Cram 5 years as a seamer for the Van Raalte Company in Bristol and Middlebury. She was married on April 25, 1935 to Herman Cram, son of Warren and Cornelia (Pushta) Cram.

    Mrs. Cram was preceded in death by husband Herman, who died in 1966, brother Robert, sister Mildred, and several nieces and nephews. She leaves behind two sons; Roderick N. Cram (and wife, Judy) of Medina, Ohio, Rudolph H. Cram (and wife, Rosemary) of Lincoln; six grandchildren, Jeffrey and Jennifer Cram, Patricia Sargent, Jackie Mooney, Christopher and Michael Cram; seven great grandchildren; nieces, Donna Noble of New Haven, Leona Robinson of Lincoln, Teresa of Montpelier, and Bessie of New Hampshire; and friends too numerous to name.

    A special thanks to her caregivers Mary Emmons and her son Adam.

    Funeral services was held on Wednesday August 6th at Lincoln United Church. Interment was in Maple Cemetery in Lincoln. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Addison County Home Health & Hospice, PO Box 754, Middlebury, VT 05753.

Thomas “Tommy” Whitney

 

Panton - Thomas “Tommy” Whitney, 44, passed away Wednesday August 6, 2008 at his home in Panton surrounded by his family.

    He was born October 12, 1963 in Burlington the son of James and Ann (Newville) Whitney.

    Tommy is survived by his daughter Jessica Whitney and his grandson Heath of Vergennes; his parents James and Ann Whitney of Panton; brother Brian Whitney and his wife Eileen of South Hero; three sisters, Angela Whitney of Panton, Iris Whitney of Vergennes, and Melody Miller and her husband Dale of Addison.  He also leaves one niece and several nephews, and his best friend David LaFleche.  Predeceased by his nephew Anthony Whitney.

    The family would like to thank all the staff at FAHC for the excellent and tireless care they gave Tommy.  A special thank you to Cheryl Gagnon, PA-C and all the wonderful nurses in the Dialysis Unit.

    Friends may call at Brown-McClay Funeral Home in Vergennes on Monday August 11th from 5 to 8 p.m.  A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. on Tuesday August 12th at Prospect Cemetery in Vergennes.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Addison County Home Health & Hospice, PO Box 754, Middlebury, VT 05753 or American Kidney Fund, 6110 Executive Boulevard, Suite 1010, Rockville, MD 20852.
