Firmin Yvon Cloutier

Ferrisburgh - Firmin Yvon Cloutier, 73, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 9, 2008 at Fletcher Allen Hospital after a brief illness. He was surrounded by his loving family and close friends.
He was born on December 16, 1934, in Crysler, Ontario Canada, the son of Theophile & Flora (Richer) Cloutier.
Firmin moved to the United States at the age of 18 and worked in various occupations including farming, logging, construction, a mill equipment operator at the White Pigment and most recently worked at Middlebury Union High School as a maintenance technician.

   He loved to tinker in his garage on various types of equipment, which included his Antique tractors, planting his gardens and visiting with his neighbors and friends. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and pets.
Firmin was dearly loved and will be missed by everyone. He will especially be remembered for his good sense of humor and his "French ways'.

   He is survived by his loving wife Helen of Ferrisburgh, four children; Richard Cloutier and his wife Maggie of Vergennes, Lisa Cloutier- Geh and her husband Jamie of Addison, Michelelenn (Missy) Bishop and her husband Merle of Ferrisburgh, Michael Cloutier and his companion Becky Brill of Ferrisburgh. His two granddaughters: Kelli-Jo and Rikki Cloutier of Vergennes; He is also survived by four brothers, Armand and his wife Cecile of Ontario, Canada, Eugene and his wife Fern of Ontario, Canada, Lionel and his wife Pauline of Salisbury, VT, Roland and his wife Judy of Whiting, VT, two sisters and one sister-in-law, Cecile LeDuc of Florida and Estelle Denis and Maryette Cloutier of Ontario, Canada, He also leaves behind many friends and his pets. He was predeceased by both his parents and two brothers, Hector and Ernest.

   Visiting hours were held at Brown McClay Funeral Home in Vergennes. Funeral services were held on Friday June 13th at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Vergennes. Burial immediately followed at St. Peter's Cemetery in Vergennes.

   The family asked in lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Vergennes Area Rescue Squad, Panton Road Vergennes, VT 05491.

Joan Ruby (Cobb) Lattrell

Bristol - Joan Ruby (Cobb) Lattrell, 68, died Thursday, June 5, 2008 at Porter Medical Center in Middlebury.

    She was born in Ticonderoga, New York on July 31, 1939 the daughter of William and Ruby (Winchell) Cobb.

    Joan was a known crafter in the Addison County Area, remembered for her intricate beadwork and beautiful dreamcatchers. She loved to go to local pow wow’s and felt a strong connection to her native American heritage. She loved nature, some of her favorite animals being the wolf and birds. Some of her hobbies included shopping and puttering in her flower gardens, her favorites being her Iris and Peonies.

    Throughout the years she had been adopted as Mom to many children and in the past few years had been adopted as grandma by two young ladies, Amanda Baslow and Crystal Ryder, whom spent much of their free time with her, sharing their unconditional love and bubbly laughter.

    Joan is survived by her two daughters Lisa Kieinfeldt and husband Jonah, Christine Jerome and partner Eric Peters, son Mike Thompson and wife Nardy, four granddaughters Courtney Jerome, Shyla Lattrell, Tori Thompson, and Abbigayl Peters, two grandsons Tyler Laflam and Dawson Kleinfeldt, brother David Cobb of FL. Joan was predeceased by her husband Leon Lattrell and daughter Christine Towne-Lattrell.

    Funeral services were held Tuesday June 10 at the Brown-McClay Funeral Home in Bristol. Interment was  in Maple Cemetery in Lincoln. Contributions may be made to the Addison County Food Shelf or your local food shelf.
