Nick Garza Remembered

Jocelyn Stohl found what they suspected the body of the missing college student Nick Garza earlier in the day lodged underneath driftwood at this spot along Otter Creek, below the falls in Middlebury. A driftwood memorial honors the memory of 19 year old Middlebury College freshman Nicholas Garza. Nick’s body was recovered a short distance from this spot below the Otter Creek falls in Middlebury on Tuesday evening May 27th, 2008. He had been missing since Feb. 5th, 2008.
The missing person investigation and the coordinated search efforts that began in the days after his disappearance were some of the most intensive in the state’s history.  The MiddleburyPolice Department was the  lead investigation team in the Garza case.
