Gertrude J. Visser

Addison \ Whitinsville, MA - Gertrude J. Visser 91, our beloved mother and Grandmother went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, May 27. She died peacefully at home with her loved ones by her side. She was born April 28, 1917 in Whitinsville, MA. She was the daughter of the late Ray and Jennie Jorritsma. She was predeceased by her husband Stuart Visser of 60 years, her brother Jake and sister Eva.

    She is survived by her two sons, William Visser of Boulder City, NV and Ray and his wife Swanee of Addison; two brothers, Ray Jorritsma of Whitinsville, MA and Martin and his wife Wilma of Northbridge, MA; six grandchildren, Wayne and Laurie Visser of Bristol, Randy and Wendy Provencher of Addison, David Visser of Dallas, TX, Angela Home of Lompoc, CA, Mike and Melanie Livingston of Toronto, CA, and Craig and Cindy Livingston of CA; 11 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; several nieces and nephews.

    For the last 18 years she spent summers in VT and winters in NV. Even with limited mobility she enjoyed being with her family, friends and liked to sit on the deck to watch the birds and flowers. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was a member of the Champlain Valley Christian Reformed Church in Vergennes.

    There will be no calling hours. Funeral services were held Sat. May 31st at the Champlain Valley Christian Reformed Church, Vergennes. Pastor Tom Albaugh  officiated. Burial was on Monday in Whitinsville, MA. Memorial donations may be made to Addison County Home Health and Hospice, P.O. Box 754, Middlebury, VT 05753 or to Champlain Valley Christian School, Capital Campaign Fund, P.O. Box 138, Vergennes, VT. 05491.

Ned Oliver Fleming

Panton - Ned Oliver Fleming, 80 passed away Saturday May 24, 2008 at Helen Porter Nursing Home in Middlebury surrounded by his family.

   He was born September 14, 1927 in Burlington, the son of Martin and Lillian Beers Fleming.

   He worked for Simmonds Precision for 28 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, sharpening knives, fixing fishing poles, and small appliances. He will be greatly missed by all.

   Ned is survived by his wife of 54years Geraldine Fleming of Panton; four children,  Lynn and Charles Finch of Warden, Washington; Larry and Denise Fleming of Addison; Lisa and Christopher Preston of Addison; Lance and Penny Fleming of Bridport; 10 grandchildren, Missy, Mandy, Jessie, Michael, Terra, Lilly, Dylan, Evan, Nathan, and Jordan; 10 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and many friends. Predeceased by infant son Ray Oliver Fleming and his other son Lee James Fleming.

   A gathering was held at on Friday May 30th at family’s home in Panton.

Howard A. Wright Sr.

Bristol - Howard A. Wright Sr. 80 passed away Monday May 26, 2008 at his home in Bristol.

   He was born February 29, 1928 in Hinesburg the son of Alfred and Mary Pierce Wright.

   Predeceased by his wife Barbara (Wolcott) Wright in 1997.

   Howard is survived by his special friend of 11 years Pamela Whittemore of Bristol; four children, Betty and Frank Ryan of Jeffersonville; Howard A Wright Jr. and Denise of Clarksville, Tenn.; Ella Johnson and fiancé’ Randall Blair of Bristol; Mary Taylor of Sheldon; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, step grandchildren, and great step grandchildren; a sister, Minnie Scribner and Richard of Bakersfield. Predeceased by a brother Charles Wright; two son-in-laws, Tom Taylor and Patrick Ryan Sr.

   Funeral services were held  on Friday May 30th at Brown McClay Funeral Home in Vergennes. Interment will be in Prospect Cemetery in Vergennes. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Bristol Rescue Squad, PO Box 227, Bristol, VT 05443
