Fire crews from Brandon, Pittsford, Proctor, and Rutland are credited with keeping a roaring blaze from completely destroying the Ken Torrey Farm on McConnell road in Brandon on Wednesday morning, April 2nd, 2008.

The fast moving fire destroyed a milking parlor and was quickly moving to engulf the attached barn fanned by strong winds in the area.  Firefighters were able to cut the fire off and contain the blaze that could be seen from miles away.

Fire officials credit quick response and co-ordination between area departments for being able to save a large portion of the farm that has been in the Torrey family since the late 50's.  No estimate of damages was available and no injuries or loss of livestock was reported.

Travis Romano was able to get some of the first recorded pictures of last weeks roaring barn fire at the Ken Torrey Farm in Brandon.  The blaze on Mc Connell road was contained thanks to the quick and co-ordinated work of fire departments from Brandon, Pittsford, Proctor and Rutland.  The inferno above is what firefighters were faced with when they arrived on scene.  The blaze was whipped by 20 mile per hour wind gusts.
