Linda A. Bougor

Shelburne - Mrs. Linda A. Bougor, 60 formerly of Middlebury, passed away Friday March 7, 2008 at her home in Shelburne

   She was born August 11, 1947 in St. Albans, the daughter of Donald & Dorothy (Lashapelle) Scott.

   Linda was a former member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Middlebury. She was a member of the Middlebury American Legion Auxiliary. Linda enjoyed playing card & dice and loved to look at pictures, the great outdoors and sitting on her porch. She enjoyed traveling, visiting with family and friends and her trips to Canada to see her sister.

   She is survived by her husband Henry G. Bougor Sr., of Shelburne, her daughter, Amy L. Bougor, of Shelburne, her two sons, Robert J. Bougor & his wife Nicole, of Shoreham, and  Henry G. Bougor Jr & his wife Christy, of Essex Junction. By her eight grand children, her sisters, Yvette Hughes & her husband Johnny, and Wendy Shedrick & her husband Ralph, of Clarenceville Quebec, Canada, by her brothers, Ronald Scott & his wife Rese, of Morrisville, NY Ricky Scott & his wife Trish, of Manchester, NH and David Scott & his wife Mela, of St. Albans. Also by several Aunts, Uncles, Nieces & nephews and many cousins.

   She was predeceased by her parents.

   Visiting hours were held on Friday March 14, 2008 followed by a memorial service at Sanderson Funeral Service at 117 south main street Middlebury VT 05753.

ALTHEA MURIEL KEELER

Leicester - Althea Muriel Keeler, age 84 passed away peacefully at her home in Leicester with her family by her side on Monday March 10, 2008

   Althea was born in Troy, New York March 15, 1923 the daughter of Charles and Marie (Kuhl)  Hefflon . Althea earned her Nursing Degree from what is now known as Bringham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, MA.

   She began her nursing career working for the Veteran’s Administration in White River Jct. VT. Althea worked at the Brandon Training School for 21 years were she became a Nursing Supervisor and was known for her love and dedication  to the residents she cared for. She retired in 1987.  

   Althea loved to travel, as a teenager she once took a bicycle trip from Vermont to the coast of Maine with her girlfriends. She also loved winter sports and was an avid skier and snowmobiler until her Arthritis forced her to give them up.

   Althea was a wonderful and loving mother. She is survived by her son Martin “Dutch” Keeler and his Fiancé’ Jennifer Hornbeck of Leicester, her daughter Martina Barrows and her husband Barry J. of Roscoe, NY and her 3 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her brother, Carmon “Van” Hefflon.

   Private services will be held at the convenience of her family. Memorial Contributions may be made in her memory to the Brandon Area Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 232, Brandon VT 05733.

   Arrangements are under the direction of the Miller & Ketcham Funeral Home, Brandon, VT.

Richard Morris Brace Sr.

Panton - Richard Morris Brace Sr. 69, passed away Monday March 10, 2008 at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington surrounded by his family.

   He was born June 9, 1938 in Middlebury the son of Lester and Rose Martell Brace.  He married his sweetheart, Sandi Burnett on March 22, 1958. He spent his whole life farming around Addison County.

   Richard is survived by his wife Sandra (Burnett) Brace of 49yrs, his children Polly Brace and companion Norman Dunham; Richard Brace Jr. and Mark Brace; mother in law Rachael Burnett; two grandchildren; six great grandchildren; three brothers, a sister, several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by two daughters.

   Calling hours were at Brown McClay Funeral Home in Vergennes on Thursday March 13th.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Addison County Home Health & Hospice PO Box 754, Middlebury, VT 05753.

Joan (Bosworth) Jackman

Bristol - Joan (Bosworth) Jackman 80, passed away peacefully on Wednesday March 12, 2008 at Porter Hospital surrounded by her family after a brief illness.

   She as born on March 27, 1927 in Peru, New York the daughter of Carlton H. and Pauline H. (Hosford) Bosworth.

   Joan graduated from Bristol High School in 1944 and from UVM in 1948. She married Fred E. Jackman on August 23, 1947. She taught elementary school in Vergennes for 18 yrs She enjoyed her grandchildren, reading, crosswords, and playing cards with friends and family. She also enjoyed her dogs Luna and Cooper and she was a life long Red Sox fan.

   She is survived by her husband of 60 yrs. Fred E. Jackman; four children, Paul Jackman and his companion Cheri Rockwood; Peter and Debra Jackman; Lori Jackman; Lisa Jackman; nine grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her brother John F. Bosworth.

   The Jackman family would like to give special thanks to her caregivers at Porter Hospital and Addison County Home Health.

   A memorial services was held on Saturday March 15th at United Church of Lincoln. Interment will be at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Addison County Home Health & Hospice PO Box 754 Middlebury, VT, Weathervane Attn. Henry C. Norton

Addison - Henry C. Norton, 80 passed away Thursday March 13, 2008 at his home in Addison.

    He was born November 19, 1927 in Addison the son of Cora Bell Norton.

    Retired from Simmonds after 35 years, and he enjoyed camping, dancing, traveling, working around his house.

    Henry is survived by his two daughters, Rose Cote and husband Giles of Colorado; Bettie Cassidy and husband William of West Ferrisburgh; Three granddaughters, Tina Cassidy of Colchester; Lea Cassidy of Hinesburg; Nicole Anderson and husband Mike of Colorado; great grandson Nathan Anderson of Colorado; and companion Sylvia Soulia of 23 years and extended family; two sisters Ellen Grant of Florida; Florence Gordon of California; a brother Harvey Smith Jr. of Bristol.

    A gathering was held at his home on Saturday March 15th for family and close friends. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Vergennes Area Rescue Squad PO Box 11 Vergennes, VT 05491.
