Tuesday January 29, 2008
On January 11, 2008, The Village Corner Store re-opened its doors after being closed for approx 6 weeks. Meg began leasing the space from Chris Rockwood and began extensive re-modeling over the holidays, including re-finishing the maple flooring, painting the walls and trim, new counter space, etc. The store will keep its name and feature old favorites as well as some new additions, such as Green Mountain Coffee and the return of penny candy! The deli is currently being re-modeled and is scheduled to be completed by Feb 4th (approx). Summertime favorites will include soft-serve and hard scoop ice cream cones and sundaes with window sidewalk service. Meg plans to add additional products, featuring local Vermont businesses as much as possible. The current hours of operation are 7 days a week 7:00AM-8:00PM.
Meg would like to thank Beth Roscoe for all of her hard work; Beth is also from Bristol and will be managing the store during the week. Also Meg wants to thank those who helped her to re-model the store and get it off the ground, Steve Germain, Fran Robodeau, John Vautier, Matt Gordon, Chuck Rockwell, and her family, her husband Brian, and their children, Makenzi, Devin, Jeseca, and Brian.
A Grand Opening Open House is scheduled for Sat Feb 2nd from 10:00AM-3:00PM. All are welcome to come and enjoy free give-aways and chances to win merchandise through raffle tickets.
