Bertyl Algot Anderson

Brandon - Bertil Algot Anderson, age 83, died Monday, January 14, 2008 at Rutland Regional Medical Center, Vermont.

   Mr. Anderson was born in Mount Vernon, New York on April 5, 1924, the son of Swedish born parents Algot and Svea Anderson.  He was a pilot serving in the rank of Lieutenant in the Air Force during World War II.  He was married to his beloved wife, Annabelle for 58 years prior to her death in 2004.  Bert and Annabelle retired to Brandon, Vermont in 1988 where he was involved as an amateur radio operator and enjoyed flying radio controlled airplanes.  Prior to retirement, he was a Master Carpenter, owning and operating Algot Anderson Co. in White Plains, New York.

    He was known to all his friends and family as a wise, honest, loving, kind, caring gentleman, always willing to lend a hand or an ear.  He is survived by three sons, Robert Anderson of Charlestown, Rhode Island, Michael Anderson of Killington, Vermont and Richard Anderson of Brandon, Vermont, brother Ronald in Maryland and sister Ruth in Tennessee.  He also had a twin brother Frank, who predeceased him. 

    A private memorial service will be held in Brandon.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Miller & Ketcham Funeral Home, Brandon.
