George D. Bennett

Ferrisburgh - George D. Bennett, 68 passed away Friday December 14, 2007 at Vermont Respite House in Williston.

    He was born October 18, 1939 in Scarborough, Maine the son of Harold and Ruth Morrison Bennett.

    He was a member of Masonic Lodge in Scarborough, Maine. He also past served as a town lister and school board member of St. George.

    George is survived by his children, Kerri Bennett of New York City, NY; James Bennett of Waltham; Mindy Bennett of Burlington; two grandchildren, Jackson and Elizabeth; a brother and sister; several nieces and nephews.

    Funeral services were held on Wednesday December 19th at Vergennes United Methodist Church. Interment will be in Gage Cemetery in Ferrisburgh. There were no public calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Vermont Respite House 99 Allen Brook Lane, Williston, VT 05495.

Robert (Bob) H. Carpenter

 

Bristol- Robert H. Carpenter, 79 of Bristol passed away peacefully December 18, 2007 at
Julie Blair Rehabilitation in Albany, NY.

   He was born Sept. 6, 1928 in Bristol  the son of Harold W. and Mildred M. Carpenter.

   He served in the Korean War and was presented the Purple Heart and several other medals. On August 28, 1963 Bob Married Shirley J. Harder. He worked throughout his life working as a carpenter. Also a member of American Legion Post #19 in Bristol. He enjoyed traveling, hunting, hiking, camping and a all around outdoors man.

   He is survived by a son Scott Carpenter and companion Stephanie Vandoran of Kingsbury, NY; a daughter Bobbie Prime and husband Jeffery of Hudson Falls, NY; grandchildren, Samuel Carpenter, and deceased twin brother Foster sons of Scott; Jeffery and Tarra Prime; Chad and Shirley Carpenter son of Robert; two sisters, Marie Noyce and Olive Babcock both of Bristol; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, by a brother, Donald Carpenter, and a son Robert Banjo Carpenter.

   Funeral services were held on Friday, December 21st at Brown-McClay Funeral Home in Bristol. Interment will be in Mt St Joseph Cemetery in Bristol. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to American Legion Post #19 Bristol, VT 05443.
