Evan M. Payne

Ferrisburg — Evan Michael Payne passed away as a result of an automobile accident on September 3, 2007 while stationed in Gulfport, Mississippi.

    He was born January 20, 1988 in Middlebury, Vermont, son of Kevin J. Payne of Shoreham and Jana K. DellVeneri and Michael DellVeneri of Ferrisburg and Lisa Payne of Shoreham.  He was a graduate of Vergennes Union High School, class of 2006 and two years at the Hannaford Center Forestry Department.  After high school, Evan joined the Navy where he proudly became a Seabee and was stationed in Mississippi where he continued his training in metal work. 

    Evan enjoyed being outdoors, hunting and fishing.  He also loved the Navy and was known as a model Sailor; he was respected and loved by his fellow Shipmates. He donated a large portion of his time to the Habitat for Humanity and being the kind of young man who was always ready to help someone in need.  Evan was also well known for being a good artist designing shirt logos for school and church.  He also designed a flag for his troop during boot camp. He loved God and knew Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior.

    Evan is survived by his parents, brother Christopher Payne, sister-in-law Kelsey Payne, brother Tyler Malloy, sister Christine DellVeneri, step-brothers David Payne, Tyler Payne, step-sister Amanda Payne, maternal grandmother Elizabeth Jones, paternal grandmother Jean Payne, paternal grandfather, Marvin Payne, aunts and uncles John and Jodi Jones, Bryan E. Jones, Wayne and Clarena Renfrow, Shar Payne, Terri Payne, Traci Payne, Mary Ladd and Dick Candlish, Arthur DellVeneri, Freddie and Gwen DellVeneri of Tennessee and several cousins, Bryan D. Jones, Bob Jones, Nick Jones, Ean Renfrow, Greg Jones, Sam Jones, Joshua Renfrow, Christie Bentz, Apachie Trudeau, Tommy Hunt, Jackie Hunt, Krista Hunt, Mara Payne, Dana Benz, Raymond Bushey, Maverick Payne, Jarod Bushey, Brianna and Chris Wheeler, Jolene Ladd and Amanda DellVeneri.
Calling hours will be held at the Assembly of God Christian Center in Ferrisburg on Sunday, September 9th from 3 to 6 p.m.  Services will be on Monday at 10 a.m. also at the Assembly of God Christian Center with a burial immediately following.  Evan will be laid to rest at the Vermont Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Randolph, Vermont.

Evan was loved by all and will be greatly missed.

MELBA E. MYERS

NORTH FERRISBURG  - Melba E. Myers 91 died August 31, 2007 after a brief battle with cancer at the home of Judy Hill and family in Monkton, we would like to thank for taking such wonderful care of her. Melba was born July 19, 1916 in North Ferrisburg, the daughter of Harley and Bertha (LeCoy) Williams. She attended school in Vergennes. Melba was a frequent visitor to the Bixby Library in Vergennes.

   Melba was a loving aunt, neighbor, and friend. She had a wonderful sense of humor right up to the end, always a beautiful smile, laughing, and cracking jokes. Melba’s sense of wisdom and enthusiasm is an inspiration and legacy to those who knew her.

   Melba was an active member of her community, North Ferrisburg United Methodist Church, where she was a Sunday School Teacher, she belonged to church choir “Certain Sounds”. Also, she was a member of Senior Citizens Bowling League “Prime Timers Bowling Club”, Red Hat Ladies Club, Wild Berry Women’s Club, Senior Citizens Tour Travel Club. She knit and crochet items for local charities and a avid gardener.

   She leaves behind a sister in law Lila Williams of Milton; nine nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.

   She will be missed by her loving cat Snowball whom she enjoyed sharing her breakfast with each day.

   Funeral services were held on Tuesday September 4th at North Ferrisburg United Methodist Church. Interment will be in North Ferrisburg Cemetery. There will be no public calling hours. Louise Rheaume

Starksboro-Louise Rheaume-On Friday September 7, 2007 Louise (Sederburg) Rheaume passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home.

   She was born June 16, 1925 in Saybrook, PA the daughter of Lawrence and Annabel Arp Sederburg.

   Louise is survived by a husband of 51 yrs, Gerald R. Rheaume Sr., a sister Esther Sederburg both of Starksboro, a daughter and son-in-law Carol and David Faircloth of Starksboro, two granddaughters Keri Faircloth her companion Giles Laframboise and Nicole Faircloth of Starksboro, many brothers and Sister-in-laws and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her father-in-law Alfred Rheaume, a mother-in-law Irene Rheaume and a son Gerald R. Rheaume Jr.

   A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. on Wednesday September 12th at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Bristol. Interment will be at a later date. Friends may call at Brown McClay Funeral Home in Bristol on Tuesday September 11th from 7 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Addison County Home Health and Hospice PO Box 754 Middlebury, VT 05753.
