Top to Bottom The base of a support truss on the Vermont side awaits a look from Vermont inspectors as inspectors from the New York Department of Transportation examine support structures under the New York side near Crown Point Reservation.  Both states have joined others across the country to inspect bridges in the wake of the collapse of the Interstate 35W Bridge in Minnesota.  A 2005 report from the American Society of Civil Engineers showed that the nation has a backlog of $1.1 trillion worth of basic infrastructure projects.  The nations crumbling infrastructure could make it easier for both states to ask for federal funding for projects like repairing the Champlain Bridge pictured above.  This inspection took place on Thursday, August 16th, 2007.
