CLARA L. CHASE

MONKTON - Clara Louise Chase, 87 passed away in Burlington on Saturday June 23, 2007.

   She was born in Waterville on July 5, 1919, the daughter of Fred Perkins and Sarah (Calderwood) Perkins.

   Clara was a homemaker most of her married life and was an excellent cook, famous for her raised doughnuts, cakes and cookies. She worked for a short time at Middlebury Restaurant making pastries, and later worked cleaning homes. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

   She is survived by her daughter Helen Foster of Williston; five grandchildren Joseph (Kim) Chase of Avondale, Arizona; Kelley and Glenn Kimball of Vergennes; Tammy of South Burlington; Steve Foster of Williston; and Cheryl Foster of Montpelier; four great grandchildren, Joshua and Jacob Chase of Arizona and Skyler and Joseph Foster of Florida; a sister Beatrice Jackson of North Ferrisburgh. She was predeceased by her husband Harold; sons Ralph and David Chase, a brother Elmer Perkins, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Della and Ernest Clifton, Jr.

   Special thanks to Dr. Zail Berry and the nursing staff who took care of Clara during her short stay at Birchwood Terrace Rehabilitation Center in Burlington.

   There will be no visiting hours. Private family burial will be in Prospect Cemetery in Vergennes. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society 121 Connor Way Williston, VT 05495, or a charity of ones choice. Arrangements are by Brown-McClay Funeral Home in Vergennes.

Anthony M. Whitney

Addison- Anthony M. Whitney, 22 died unexpectedly Friday June 29, 2007 in Addison.

   He was born September 23, 1984 in Middlebury the son of Angela Whitney and Michael Pierce.

   Anthony is survived by his companion and mother of his children Chelsie Buck of Northfield; three children, Camren, Charles, and Latoya of Northfield; his parents, Angela Whitney of Panton; Michael and Jody Pierce of Vergennes; his grandparents Ann and James Whitney of Panton; grandmother Lena Pierce of N. Ferrisburgh; three step sisters, Ashley, Megan, and Aaron of Vergennes; special aunt and uncle Melody and Dale Miller; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

    Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Monday July 2nd at Victory Baptist Church in Vergennes. Interment will be in Prospect Cemetery in Vergennes. Friends may call at Brown-McClay Funeral Home in Vergennes on Sunday July 1st from 5 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Addison Fire Department Addison, VT 05491.
