In honor of those members of the education and business communities who have gone above and beyond what is expected and made special contributions during the school year to the education of students, the Addison County Business Education Partnership (ACBEP) and the Addison Central Supervisory Union (ACSU) sponsored its ninth annual STAR (Showing Thanks, Appreciation and Recognition) Awards Presentation Night on Wednesday, May 2, 2007, at the Mary Hogan School.  Evening entertainment was provided by the MUHS Women's Ensemble.

Lee Sease, Superintendent, and Fletcher Brush, Addison County Chamber of Commerce Board Member, presented awards to the STAR Award winners, and a dessert reception followed.

Nominations for STAR Awards were solicited for individuals from all areas of our education and business communities, including custodians, educational assistants, teachers, counselors, administrators, board members, secretaries, parents and community members.  STAR Award recipients promote excellence in education, go above and beyond what is expected, and have made a special impact on students.  This year there were 16 STAR Award winners.  It is through the efforts of people like these that help to make ACSU a successful learning community.
